There are so many people that I would like to thank as they supported me in this long journey.
The First is my dear friend Adama for taking the time and supporting me in writing an amazing foreword.
You are one of the people I admire and respect the most. Your role as Co-Founder and CEO of the Moleskine Foundation truly exemplifies the role of a modern Creative Leader.
Without our conversations - and even, at times, heated disagreements — this book wouldn’t be what is now.
Love you dearly.
Day 100 -
100 Days of Business Design — The End
Today is day 100 of the challenge. It was a blast!
But also very hard.
Many expectations were fulfilled; others weren’t.
And that’s ok.
I have learned a lot! That was my ultimate goal—the beauty of experimentation.
In these 100 days, we covered a lot of ground.
So. What is Business-Design?
Business-Design is a strategic approach to innovation. It is a framework to discover and implement strategic business goals, satisfying unexpressed customer needs.
… and why does it matter?
Business-Design is not for everyone. Let’s make that clear!
But I believe now more than ever. Organizations must learn to embrace change and quickly pivot, expand, evolve, and even disrupt their markets.
What does it take for a product or service to be successful?
There are three main attributes: I. Desirability, (Design) II. Feasibility, (Technology)
III. Viability, (Business)
Business-Design operates precisely at the junction of these three practices.
It is answering the following questions. I. Desirability, (Design)
Q: How can we create more desirable products, services, and experiences?
A: By understanding unexpressed customer needs, creating uniquely better, faster, and cheaper products than the available alternatives. II. Feasibility, (Technology)
Q: How can we work more effectively, efficiently, and experimentally?
A: Leverage emerging technologies to create seamless physical, service, and digital experiences. Constantly listening, testing, and iterating with end customers.
III. Viability, (Business)
Q: How can we discover and implement more profitable strategies and Business Models?
A: Focussing on long-term growth strategies rather than short-term tactics, aiming for Value-Innovation where we are able to reduce cost and increase value concurrently.

I feel that being Customer-Centric or the concept of a Human-Centered approach to Innovation is often overcomplicated.
Whether we are talking about Innovation, Business-Design, Design-Thinking, or User Experience, the essence is still the same.
Placing people at the center of our strategies. Why?
Because in our constantly changing environments, the only true constant is Change itself and People.
The essence of our effort nowadays should be to 1. Concentrate on satisfying unexpressed customer needs: 2. Creating a Seamless Physical, Service, and Digital Customer Experience.
We constantly ask ourselves how are we crafting the overall Customer Experience of the product/service we want to launch?
What unexpressed needs are we addressing?
This is true for our customers as much as for our team and any other stakeholder we interact with.

To empower meaningful growth, Practice information is essential.
My students are always trying to find a way to outsmart their professors. One of the most common “appeals” when they don’t want to do their homework or are haggling for an extension is...
But you didn’t explain...
You haven’t Told us...
You haven’t shown us how...
It’s actually quite fun! They are trying to full Me. I know it. They know it. It’s the game of the parts.
But early in my Teaching days, I learned that lack of information is more detrimental than helpful.
I wanted them to be resourceful and find their way to solve problems, so I purposefully withhold information.
I later found this wasn’t a really good approach.
The lack of Informations quickly became the alibi not to act—Or to do the bare minimum to scrape by.
Although this is common in the academic world, I can assure you that it is just as common in the corporate world.
When information is distributed and available, there is nowhere to hide

Leadership is the particular attitude of influencing and guiding other people to achieve a shared vision.
Principles are the rules or beliefs that govern our personal behavior. Practices are how do we demonstrate such principles.
It is not uncommon that If someone had particularly severe parents, they tend to be also strict parents.
So is true to leadership. Canonical/Archaic models of leadership promote a top-down approach using authority and power to enforce compliance.
When we talk about Creative/Disruptive leadership, we focus on enabling and empowering others, Not solely telling them what to do.
If we believe we are the smartest ones in the room, we will have a tough time promoting creative problem solving and innovation.
Instead, we must embrace the concept that everyone has their own unique way of approaching a challenge, but we won’t settle for mediocrity or compliance.
