2 weeks ago, I ran 100 miles. One of the hardest things I’ve ever done in my life. A few years ago, I would have told you running 100 miles was close to impossible and most definitely impossible for someone like me to do.
Running 100 miles taught me multiple things:
1.) There’s no excuse. While running the 100 miler, there were people running it who were 70+ years old, 16 year olds, people with asthma, people who were 200+ pounds, people with knees issues, people who work long hour jobs, you name it, someone out there was running with your same excuses. Chances are you’re the only one holding yourself back
2.) If you can take one more step you can keep going and if you can’t take another step then good you’ve reached failure. Don’t focus on the big goal or outcome just focus on your next step. You’d be surprised on how many steps you’re able to take after you think you cant go anymore.
Finally, a big shoutout to my family for being there to support and crew me. Without them there’s no way I would have been able to accomplish something like that. My brother for pacing me on the back 50. I would have lost my mind without him lol. Dylan for filming all of this for me. Everyone who sent me messages and then most importantly Jesus for giving me the strength to get through something like this. Without Jesus there was no way I would have been able to finish the race.
