Hi! I’m Kera, and I’m usually on the other side of the lens 📸
Since I love hearing everyone else's stories, I thought it was time to share a little bit of mine...
From a barista in New Zealand to a food photographer in Sydney, my life has always revolved around hospitality. Some years ago I traded the espresso for a camera, capturing the soul of food, interiors, and the people who make them happen 🥂
When I’m not chasing the perfect shot, you’ll find me at a power yoga or pilates class (keeping my back healthy for those long shoot days!) or enjoying some quiet INTJ time 🧘🏻♀️
Now you - what’s one thing you’re passionate about right now? 👇

Making magic with a bistro menu ✨🥘
From flatlays to action shots, we captured the full menu spread for this hotel in Edgeworth. My personal favourite? That gravy pour on slide 4 🤤 Or was it the lemon squeeze?
Which bistro dish would you dive into first? 👇

As photographers we’re always thinking about trying to get the light right, and today I am working overtime to get that perfect shot 📸
To keep that stunning Darling Harbour view while making the High Tea look delicious, I had to bring in the big guns. Here’s the breakdown:
The Setup: Profoto B10plus 500w (Key) + Profoto A2 100w (Fill).
The Settings: 1/80 | f/7.1 | ISO 100.
The Goal: Matching the power of the sun to bring back the detail inside without losing the harbour.

Photographing a Raspberry + Lychee cake just in time for Mother’s Day 💐
For this quick last minute project I wore the hat of photographer, stylist and the most terrifying part… cutting the cake! 🍰
So happy the slice came out ok 😄

Stop guessing and start growing 📸
We’ve all been there, or at least I have.
You spend ages taking photos of your food, whether it's styling the perfect plate, emulating light you've seen on online, and fine-tuning the edit, to the best of your ability... only to find that it's not what you expected.
You ask yourself, "What am I doing wrong? Am I doing anything right?"
Sometimes, all you need is a fresh set of eyes to bridge the gap between where you are and help put you on the path where you want to be. That’s why for the month of May, I’m opening up Kera’s Lens Lab, where I offer feedback for your food photo.
Whether it's composition and lighting to that final colour grade, I'm offering personal feedback to those who submit their pictures, but only this month of May.
How to get involved:
1️⃣ Upload your chosen food photo via the link in my bio.
2️⃣ I’ll review it and send you personalised feedback via email.

Tea for two, with a view 🏙️
Spent the day capturing the gorgeous High Tea spread at Sydney Vogue Cafe. These luxurious tiered delights are made for Mother's Day, or any occasion to indulge really! Between the Moet spritzes and the wagyu sliders, it’s hard to pick a favourite part. Although, that view of the skyline comes pretty close!

Ever wonder what goes into a professional brunch spread? ☕️
I had such a fun time shooting this gorgeous setup! To get those crisp details and soft, natural-looking shadows, I paired my Canon R5 with a Profoto B10 Plus through a 130cm Large Umbrella. A little white bounce card goes a long way in filling those shadows on the table!
My Kit for this shoot:
📸 Camera: Canon R5
🔎 Lens: RF 24-105mm f/4
💡 Light: Profoto B10 Plus + 130cm Umbrella
⚙️ Settings: Swipe to see the RAW files and the exact metadata for each shot!
