Chaos and Couture is now up and running in the Dolphin Centre. Pop on down to the Gather space and see the exceptional work the students have put together. Try your hand at some fashion illustration and develop an understanding of the importance of ethics and sustainability with Fashion and Art.
Take a look at some impressive work from our UAL Level 1 students, who have been pushing their creativity over the last half term with techniques ranging from drawing into photos and pen and ink washes to watercolour paintings and mixed media experiments.
We are incredibly proud to celebrate the achievements of our student, Emri, who was selected to read his powerful poem “I Come From” at the House of Commons. This was part of the Being a Boy programme led by AUB along with the help of Ashley Hickson-Lovence @ahicksonlovence . This is a remarkable accomplishment and a testament to Emri’s creativity, confidence, and voice as a young artist.
During his Level 3 Year 1 studies last year, Emri brought this very poem to life through a striking poster and motion design piece demonstrating not only his storytelling ability but also his talent across multiple creative disciplines.

To understand how the digital basket weaving effect works, sometimes you need to go back to basics. Our Level 3 Year 2 Digital Design students have been getting hands-on, experimenting with physical image weaving to explore pattern, layering, and structure.
A great way to bridge traditional techniques with digital creativity -some brilliant explorations here from Neve, Eve, Emri, Alina, Lucy, Ibrahim and Vira!

Our Level 3 students recently visited @thestitchfestival where Sonny showcased his designs for @junkkouture , titled “Street Survivor”. It was an incredible experience for everyone and a fantastic chance for Sonny to highlight his work while emphasizing sustainable and ethical creative design.
The Chaos and Couture exhibition was honored to host these brilliant students from Leaf Studio who were taking a break from their studies. They provided fantastic feedback and kindly gave us permission to share their insights.
Students in Level 1 rose to the challenge of the Bournemouth Hospitals Competition, producing stunning artwork for the Brand New children’s unit. Under the Sea was the theme and it inspired some incredible creations. We’re looking forward to submitting these and potentially seeing them in the hospital gallery.
Our students immersed themselves in playful experimentation, pushing boundaries to inspire ideas for their final outcomes. Through blending digital drawings into photos, graphic design students Eva, Alina, Emri, Charlie, Vira, Ibrahim, and Neve began shaping unique visual narratives.

Students from the UAL Foundation Diploma in Art and Design had a blast reimagining book covers for Ferndown Library. With a range of materials and techniques, they crafted incredible pieces now on display at Ferndown library, set to tour other Dorset libraries throughout the National Year of Reading.
Just some of the brilliant outcomes from visiting students as part of today’s new student taster session. It was brilliant to see how quickly the students got stuck in with their experiments and all showed a willingness to explore their creativity in a wide variety of ways. We can’t wait to have them join us on courses in the future.
The full deck of cards is in the process of being finished by staff and existing students, I look forward to sharing it when it’s done.
