We are so lucky & I am so thankful to you all & also our incredible staff team for powering through 🍓 We’ve always said that we’re more than a cafe, more than a coffee but as cheesy as it sounds, it truly feels like we’re Jamily. Please note: we are closed tomorrow until 230pm as we are heading to CFT to receive the Community Award as part of the Chichester Annual Awards. Just a little insight in to what we’re about… Each time you purchase a coffee in our little creative space on South Street you’re doing more than giving yourself that caffeine hit (a delicious @hostcoffeeroaster one at that!) Every penny is reinvested in to the community, providing a safe and inclusive environment for young people to make, create, be heard & have meaningful positive experiences JAM itself hosts multiple community nights & events (family & friends night is making a come back!) for all to engage in but young people are at our core. The cafe allows us to host work experience placements, support young people in their education pathways and provides a safe space for people to connect. It also is the home of our charity @creativebeatzcharity which provides daily youth cafes and opportunities for young people to engage in the arts. I love that when a young person asks if they can exhibit their art work or put on a performance we can instantly support them in doing that! People often ask if they can come in to the cafe or if it’s just for young people. Our cafe is always welcome to all, in fact we need you to come & invest in us so we can continue to do the work we do…who knows, you might also find something for you! This week, as part of the #AMillionActsOfHope campaign, we’re shining a light on some of our incredible partners who are bringing hope to communities across Sussex.⁠ ⁠ Today, we’re celebrating @‌creativebeatzjam⁠ ⁠ Through creativity, music, art and connection, they create safe and inclusive spaces where young people can express themselves, build confidence and feel a sense of belonging.⁠ ⁠ Hope doesn’t always arrive in big moments.⁠ ⁠ Sometimes it looks like:⁠ 🎨 a creative workshop⁠ 🎵 music shared together⁠ ☕ a welcoming community space⁠ 💬 feeling seen and heard⁠ ✨ having somewhere you feel you belong⁠ ⁠ Creative Beatz remind us that creativity can be powerful, healing and deeply connecting.⁠ ⁠ This is one of the many acts of hope happening across Sussex every day.⁠ ⁠ #AMillionActsOfHope

🎨 HOME ED PRIMARY 🎶 We’ve got lots of fun activities planned this term & some new additions to the team! Alongside Sarah the wonderfully talented @samb_draws will be joining us for art on a Tuesday & then we have the brilliant @annamackenmusictherapy joining us for our music sessions on a Friday 🎵 Sessions are on a pay as you go basis, with limited spaces so book online to save your space! 📣 CRAFT CLUBS! CRAFT CLUBS! COME GET YOUR CRAFT CLUBS! 🎨 All now available to book on our website. Join us for your crafting fix on a Saturday 1030-1230 or 1-3pm. Drop in and create your own take home craft or pop in and pick it up as a craft kit to take away with you! We've also got our craft clubs and camps on throughout the May Half Term. ☂️ My Neighbour Totoro Trip 🌱 Yesterday Amber & Maddie took a group up to big ol’ London Town to see the incredible show My Neighbour Totoro! A bit of sight seeing & fun in the sun before enjoying this incredible production! 🌞 #memoriesmade

Here’s a little snapshot of what takes place on an average Wednesday both onsite in our cafe @creativebeatzjam & offsite out & about! In our schools programmes we’ve been expressing ourselves through writing raps & creating beats as part of a bigger project before we head to the recording studio next month! Our 1:1s have been a real mix today from making stress balls to writing songs to editing an anime script. Then we had crochet club this afternoon washed down with milkshakes & doughnuts ✌️ It’s a day of variation, filled with creativity, community & self expression!
