Weeks posts
We were partying all week, but the official kick-off was hosted at @tetetlan & @casa_pedregal and we couldn't ask for a better way to welcome our family and friends. Wedding planners: @blackrabbit_mx Photography: @salvatierra_weddings & @gladgelin

I'm horrible at celebrating my wins sometimes, so throwing this up on the feed a little late. Here are some excerpts from an interview I did for @adage this year that spotlighted me for being black in advertising. More importantly, I wanted to use this moment to express the importance of authentic storytelling and the responsibility of creators to source authentic voices to help tell those stories. I am overflowing with gratitude after this incredible weekend! Witnessing an idea that started on pieces of paper in my apartment come to life and be celebrated by peers, family, and friends is an indescribable feeling. This film has come a long way in just 3 years, winning awards and being selected for over 16 film festivals. I am humbled and grateful for the amazing crew and friends who helped turn this dream into a reality. We sometimes tend to downplay or not celebrate our wins no matter how big or small so I'm happy I had the chance to celebrate this win with my tribe. Stay tuned for where you can watch the film if you missed the premiere. More to come... Directed by @iam_newyorkmade (that crop was vicious)

March 6th we celebrated our love and our marriage in the way we always hoped we could, surrounded by our families and close friends in a place that means so much to us both. still looking for the words to describe how unbelievable and emotionally powerful this experience, and the weeks around it, were. what I know, with more clarity than ever, is that love and the people we choose to build around it is the only thing that endures with any real certainty. our wedding day was a proclamation of love to each other and to our people. what a privilege to celebrate the good in a world that can so often feel heavy 🖤 — 03.06.2026 to @zewdiac for guiding us through a ceremony more beautiful, sacred, and time-stopping than we could have ever imagined on our own, you are our angel; to @gladgelin for recording the moments on film that went by in a haze of delirious joy, to our parents for making wonderful children who became dedicated partners in love and life! and for the best sister toast of all time @itsjustsasou ; @salvatierra_weddings , our incredible photographer; to @labayviktoria_atelier and your entire team for making a garment that genuinely deserves to be kept in climate-controlled museum storage; and the gorgeous @christynbaird at @loho_bride , working with you was one of the most meaningful and creatively inspiring experiences of my life; to @marquisemiller for an exceptional selection in groom style and attire; to @volga_mx for being an anchor point and and for giving our families an experience of true hospitality; to @casa_pedregal and @museocasadelasbolas @tetetlan for providing a backdrop to our celebration that photos will never do justice; to @imbissmx for blessing us with the aux cord; to our floral team for making our floral dreams come true, @annyasantana for opening the week with leading a sexy pace 5k; to the @blkidtwins we adore you, thank you! To my cousin @_lolorita who stuck by my side with excellent organization and spreadsheet, love you!; And to the best wedding planners a couple could only dream for @alonsosfl @arac3litc @blackrabbit_mx @andreamechoulam you are the absolute BEST🇲🇽🖤💍

I think younger me wouldn't be surprised by the man I am today. He didn't know how, but he knew I would be a good man no matter the seat I sat in. I look forward to opening these letters in the future so I can sit back and read how I did it. To 36🍸

New to our collection: “They don’t listen when you scream. It’s time to whisper now.” — 2025, by @toniacalderon We first connected with this piece on a visceral level. But what made it even more powerful was hearing Tonia speak on a panel shortly after we purchased it, sharing reflections on the idea of “home” through the eyes of her younger self. There’s something beautiful about the way she now uses her art to help make every home feel more complete. Grateful to be able to collect work that not only speaks but whispers with purpose.

In November 2023, we had the opportunity to visit @madjeenisaac Studio. Shoutout to @pitterpadder for making it happen and to Andrea for sharing this experience with me—it was our first formal studio visit together. I’ve admired Madjeen’s work from afar, but seeing it in person was special. As a Haitian American, her work spoke to me personally, reminding me of stories from my childhood. The work I just added to our home resonates with me; it reflects my mother and me, a nostalgic portal to those moments of running errands with her as a kid. When I imagined my first art purchase, I knew it had to be something I genuinely connected with, and this piece does just that. Here’s to this being the first of many works.

In 2016, I got a text from a friend with a video of a puppy asking me if I wanted a dog because their building wouldn’t let them have a pit bull. I didn't even tell my roommates in Harlem and said yes. And since that day, Ace has been part of my life. A lot of people took care of Ace. It took a community to raise him. Ace was my best friend. He had been through so much with me and even moved across the country with us. On Friday, we had to lay Ace to rest. It was one of the hardest things I've had to do, and it was so instant that there was no way to prepare for it. In many ways, Ace has helped me be the man I am today. I’ve learned so much from having him in my life and being responsible for him. I wish he could have experienced and seen me grow old, but now, instead of being by my side, he will be watching from above.

34 was an amazing year for me, with lots of personal growth and accomplishing of goals that I set for myself. I’ll highlight here something I also wrote to myself: two of my biggest moments were getting engaged to the love of my life and moving to California. Both were very vulnerable moments that have impacted me in positive ways. Getting engaged and locking in your life partner is a beautiful thing. As a man, getting on a knee, looking up to your partner, and letting them know I got you from here on out is probably the most vulnerable thing I’ve done in my life but for sure the most fulfilling. Moving across the country and being the first time I ever lived outside of New York was challenging, but it has allowed me to grow outside of my comfort zone in ways I’m not sure I would have back home. I truly am blessed, and the journey I’ve been going through that I've been able to capture in these letters was not perfect, but I wouldn’t trade it for anything. I know 35 will be even better.
