We are blown away by the incredible response to perform at the Lynn Music Festival this year 🙌 Thank you to everyone who has submitted so far! The energy, talent, and love for music in our community is undeniable. This year, we’ve received 5x more submissions than ever before, and it truly speaks to the growth of the festival and the strength of Lynn’s creative scene. With that said, artist submissions will officially close on April 15th. If you’ve been thinking about applying, now’s the time! Our goal this year is to spotlight 15–17 new artists who haven’t yet had the chance to perform at the festival. We’re committed to creating space for fresh voices while continuing to uplift the incredible talent across Lynn and the North Shore. Congrats and Felicidades to @nys_dokku for having their banner design selected as the inaugural design contest held by @lynnmainstreets ! The initial banners are placed along Exchange Street, across from the Lynn Arts Bldg) with larger banners to be placed along Market Street in the future.

Where I’m From… Where We’re From… (De dónde soy… De dónde somos…) Tonight we had the chance to attend the opening of this powerful youth exhibition created by Lynn Vocational Technical Institute ( @lynntechtigers ) senior art students. Inspired by George Ella Lyon’s poem “Where I’m From,” the students explored identity, memory, and place through collage and expressive mark-making. Working alongside visiting artist @lisaboemerart and LVTI Art instructor Rebecca Levitan, the students created deeply personal pieces that reflect their stories and the communities that shaped them. Seeing their voices on the walls of the “little gallery” at the Galleries at LynnArts was a reminder of how powerful creative opportunities can be for young people. This project was made possible through a Lynnspire Grant. Now in its fourth year, Lynnspire continues to invest in the people who make Lynn’s creative community thrive, supporting artists, educators, organizers, and neighbors who bring ideas to life in ways that strengthen place, belonging, and connection. Congratulations to the students, Lisa, Rebecca, and everyone who helped bring this exhibition to life. Lynn is better because of work like this.
