Turning this museum into a song.

Introduction:
1. My name is Fajano, I am a 24-year-old MultiMediaArt Audio student at
@fhsalzburg in the 4th semester.
2. Together with my fellow students we had the opportunity to visit the renowned
@museumdermodernesalzburg on March 4th for free — thank you for the great day!
3. Our assignment was to observe the whole museum & choose a single artist or piece of art that inspired us the most. After deciding, we had 3 hours to create our own piece of art based on that inspiration & collaborate with our colleagues during the process.
My Project:
1. I decided to turn my whole experience of observing the museum into a single song to capture the spirit of the place and free the subconscious feelings I collected while absorbing the abstract and modern art at
@museumdermodernesalzburg .
Production Process:
1. To complete this project I had 3 hours on a lonely couch in the museum.
2. As tools I used an iPhone to record a hand as a kick, paper as percussion & my vocals. After collecting the audio samples I processed them on my laptop with different effects and recorded bass, synth & snare as MIDI using the laptop keyboard.
Conclusion:
1. Using an iPhone instead of a professional microphone, as well as letters on a laptop instead of piano keys, was quite a challenge that I really enjoyed.
2. But my biggest fascination was the huge subconscious impact the whole museum had on me. This became clear during the production process — and especially when I was vibing through the museum while listening to my new song “I’m Shredded”.
