May’s Artmobile Schedule! 💫👀
The CreativePEI Artmobile is a travelling event where everyone is welcome. These events are aimed at folks for whom art and creativity play a major part of their lives, especially arts sector workers.
Choose from the available art supplies to make something new, or bring your own materials/work-in-progress project to work on. Come to create amongst your community, chat, seek advice, or get inspired.
Although these events are primarily for adult audiences, children are welcome to attend with the supervision of a guardian, and we encourage everyone to participate!

CreativePEI is looking for new board members who share our vision of creating a thriving and sustainable creative sector on PEI. Our not-for-profit board seeks to empower arts, culture, and creative professionals and create meaningful connections across various artistic disciplines.
We are looking for folks who can represent the fields of Indigenous arts, video games, writing/publishing, museums/heritage, and music. Our board values individuals with diverse skills, experiences, and perspectives (though a background in finance/bookkeeping would be a lovely bonus). Regardless of your experience with non-profits or boards of this kind, we encourage you to apply!
If you or someone you know would be interested in this opportunity, head to the link in our bio to fill out an Expression of Interest form. If you have any further questions, please email [email protected]!
“‘Are the robots coming for your creative career?’ Alarmist, apocalyptical questions about AI are popping up everywhere. The creative sector is ready to get underneath the rhetoric of fear to ensure the answer is ‘no.’ But, what’s more, the arts and culture community is poised to lead PEI’s conversations about AI engagement, ethics, and effects.” - Jane Ledwell
This June, we will be holding a series of roundtable conversations about arts, culture,
and artificial intelligence, with the plan to hold a provincial symposium in September as a follow-up on the discussions.
Register soon to reserve your spot in one of the conversations! For more details and to sign-up, head to the linktree in our bio.
Calling at Artmobile Attendees! 👀
Sign-up for Art Night in Charlottetown: PEI Arts Guild Open House & Artmobile Gallery! This is an opportunity for folks who have attended the CreativePEI Artmobile events so far in 2026 to display their work to the public. We will have tables, easels, and the community gallery wall for showcasing your work. There will be refreshments, and an Artmobile table set up for in-person creating!
Sign-up is open to folks of all ages, we just ask that you’ve at least participated in one Artmobile event in 2026.
We encourage you to showcase works that you have created at our community events, but your presentation is not limited to just displaying those pieces. You may display a maximum of six!
Since this is a public, all ages event, please make sure the work you are displaying is appropriate for all audiences.
Register at the link in our bio by May 29th, 2026!
Have questions about CreativePEI or creative careers in PEI? Have projects and ideas you want to share?

On the 22nd, feel free to drop by to chat! Find her at the Lefurgey Cultural Centre between 9:00 a.m. and 12:00 noon or at the Harbourfront Theatre between 1:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m.
Well done to all the participants of the 2026 Provincial Heritage Fair! CreativePEI was so happy to award two students with special awards in Arts and Culture. Congratulations to Elsie from Morell, and Solenn from Charottetown on their hard work and creativity!
Happy Volunteer Appreciation Week! 🎉
We’d like to send a huge thank you to the folks who have volunteered with us in the past year, those who volunteer at local theatres, venues, and festivals, and all the creatives who volunteer their time and expertise to the community.
The arts industry is held up by those who come together to make something special, sometimes without any promise of financial compensation. We appreciate each and every one of you who help build this community simply for the love of it.
At the same time, we recognize that artists are regularly asked to volunteer their skills without compensation. They often take on these requests out of kindness, or because it is the only opportunity available to them. Please take this as a reminder that the services you require from artists are all skills that have taken years of practice, education, and experience to develop! Whether it be a fundraiser, festival, or other commission that you are unable to compensate an artist for, there are still other ways to show your appreciation. Supporting their work, promoting their practice to others, or providing them with essential supplies are all ways that can show you care. Even a free meal from the event you are running can go a long way!
Thank you, again, to everyone who volunteers within the arts industry and beyond! We wouldn’t be here without you. 👏👏👏
Join us on May 1st at the CreativePEI offices at at 119 Kent St #330 (take the elevator to the third floor - you’ll find us around the corner to the left) for Tactile Sketchbook & the Written Word.
Sketchbooks are some of the most frequently used tools in an artist’s practice, but they’re often kept private. Tactile Sketchbook & the Written Word, led by Alexis Bulman, brings them into the open, with 17 of her own spiral-bound sketchbooks from over 15 years of dedicated practice available to browse alongside a collection of published sketchbooks by artists like Kate Beaton, Henry Purdy and more! Participants are encouraged to bring an armload of their own sketchbooks and notebooks to share while taking part in lightly guided tactile drawing activities that create a communal space for exchange, inspiration, and new ways of approaching the page.
On Alexis Bulman:
Alexis Bulman is an interdisciplinary artist based in Epekwitk / Prince Edward Island whose drawing and sculpture practice is rooted in community, collaboration, and care. Her sketchbook is always close at hand as a space to jot down thoughts, record lines from books and songs, sketch, and collect found materials and fragments. She has exhibited provincially, nationally, and internationally with support from the Canada Council for the Arts and PEI Arts Grants.
🎭 Happy World Art Day from the Victoria Playhouse!
Every April 15th, we celebrate the power of art to connect, inspire, and transform. And we’re especially proud to shine a spotlight on the incredible artistic talent of Prince Edward Island.
Over the years, our stage has been home to a rich tapestry of Island creativity. From heartfelt storytelling and original theatre to traditional ceilidhs, contemporary music, and unforgettable performances by local masters, PEI artists have shaped the spirit of the Playhouse in profound ways. Their work reflects the rhythms, humour, and resilience of Island life, bringing audiences closer to the stories that define our home.
Please contribute to the celebration by taking some time today to share a reflection on a work of art that has touched you, and include the tag #WorldArtDayPEI so others can see your contribution.
