The story of how Princess Alanna & FEAR ME WEAK MAN came into being. I cried making this reel.
The giggles of my @catherine.munro at the very end.
The sounds of suprise.
The radiance in my eyes.
The lightness of my heart.
A labour of love, resistance, defiance, devotion; to myself and to all survivors.
Join me on Saturday 2nd May to share this project with more sass & fun than ever 🧚🌟💗

Storytelling is a way of life
Creating is a flow I honour
Constantly moving
Forever changing
In service to myself & one another
Thank you @alexandramantouraphoto for these beautiful photos ✨✨✨

Playing pop star with my bestie
Childhood dreams
Pass like silk
Through my fingers
Everyday I stop
To remind myself
I once dreamed to be where I am now
Maintaining balance
Between the latest vision
And the fact
I’m living in a (past) vision right now
Always such a dream to perform my EP, “FEAR ME WEAK MAN”🌟🔮✨
Incredible night as an opening act for @the.ikatana and @brezieofficial 💓✨
The best energy, such a blessing
Grá mór
🍄🔥☘️
Embodying new versions
Shapeshifting, like water,
In joyful celebration
Beautiful fairies surround,
my oasis of love.
Reflecting pretty visions back,
Divine codes, from above.
Rooted in love
This creative path
Is the goal
Chasing nothing
Attracting all
Younger versions of me are in awe
Who is this woman?
She is so fearless
We co-author this reality
The reader and the writer
In a sacred dance
Come and practice your Dub accent this Saturday for the launch of @brezieofficial and @the.ikatana EP at @kissmy.brass from 7pm!! 🌟💓🧚♂️

Revolutionary girl musings #6
This story felt important to dig up from the archives
The current workplace (a different workplace)
Fatigues me
Having to argue for the equivalent to a speck of dust on a balance sheet
Recognition for my work
That speck of dust on an excel spreadsheet
Means more to me
Than it could ever mean to a corporation
Is the difference between being able to be a part of meaningful family occasions, that I need to travel for
It is my QUALITY OF LIFE
How degrading to have to fight so hard just to be treated with a basic level of respect (the fight continues)
Revolutionary girl musings #5
I seem to always be beefing with my employer
The life of a revolutionary babe
This story is from Dec 2024
I discovered me & the other legal officers were being underpaid
I’d already submitted my notice to leave
I didn’t speak to the Principal Solicitor about it
Because he was a bully
I planned to submit my letter of demand (requested the unpaid wages that amounted to over $3K) at 5pm on my last day
I did speak to the workers I knew were getting underpaid
One of them told him & he lost his SHIT🙂↕️
Workers solidarity is rarely clean & tidy & simple & without risk, but we neeeeeeeeeeeeeed to stand by one another
Revolutionary girl musings #4
“I wouldn’t speak to a dog how you speak to your colleagues” has to be my favourite sentences
Workers solidarity till the ends of the Earth
Reject corporate talk
All English speakers understand plane English
Use your voice ALWAYS
Especially when you’ve already got nothing to lose (ie: you’ve got a new job lined up)
That’s how (work) cultures change
Incrementally
One act of resistance
One act of solidarity
One act
At a time
Revolutionary girl musings #3
(Part 2 of a story I had to dig up from my archives, December 2024)
And that’s on workers solidarity
That’s on advocating for yourself
That’s on, not letting a man speak over you
Bully you
Undermine you
Belittle you
And getting rewarded for it at the end of it all 🙂↕️
Elders
We don’t have many spaces where generations sit side by side.
That’s what we’re craving. Experience, ageing, wisdom.
Not speaking from theory or what you read somewhere. Listening to women who have actually lived it. Learning from their stories.
We had the privilege of learning from Karla at the last retreat. A mother of two pre-teen daughters, who has lived the cultural protocols of Sweat Lodge/Temazcal.
She opened up a really important conversation about what is required for ceremony in her culture.
Patience, deep relationship, shared intention and prayer, long term commitment to the land.
How different this is to the way we’ve come to expect ceremony, instant and just behind a paywall.
We’re being led by lived experience here. By the stories that women in our community choose to share.
What stories would you like to share? We want to listen.
