And here are our winners. This session brought a very interesting array of films and never before have we had an animated film take Best in Show.
Tianyun Lyu’s “Wild Animal” took top honors. No AI... just old school hand drawn animation and projection stills. Refreshing and incredibly entertaining.
Another standout was Vienna is Calling, with 6 awards. A beautifully shot action / spy thriller.
Field of Fears: The Haunting of Randolph County Asylum, is a gripping documentary that gave me a weeks worth of nightmares.
And rounding up the mix of notables was “Slouching Towards Branson.” Will Wood’s quirky blend of self deprecating humor and incredible talent as a singer songwriter presented as a comedy standup showcase was.... well, funny as hell.
We thank all our entries and appreciate you all for trusting us with your incredible work.

William Stancik and his Laslo Films team are back with a short called Route 83 Revisited. It’s the X Files meets Monty Python!! The take Best Narration and Comedy Short.
Pesticide is a bizarre and incredibly disturbing Horror/Thriller short about a girl over run with flies. They walk away with Best Horror/Thriller, VFX and Judge’s Choice for Best Actress for Masha Normans performance as “Gnatalie!”
Weston Porters psychological thriller, Line of Fire came very close to taking Best in Show. This is what happens when you come up with an amazing script, find the perfect cast and expertly put it all together. Porter and his team win 8 awards including all the acting awards, Cinematography and Score. Amazing film people.. Excellent job!
The big winner this time around is film that touches me personally. Oleg Karpenko’s The Campfire Story is a period Drama / Western that talks about the abuse many immigrants are forced to cope with, in this case a young Ukrainian girl. This films tugs at the heart strings and fills you with anger. It’s also got the cool factor in the character of the hero, Ukie, played by Karpenko himself. This film takes home Best Drama, Period Drama and Best in Show.
Wonderful work and all excellent films!
We thank all our entries and feel blessed by your work.
