Créateur Olfactif uses smoky French cade, Scandinavian birch tar, Virginian cedar and other precious woods to tell the story of the burning of the opera building in Geneva, Switzerland, on the 1st of May, 1951. The smoky accord is contrasted by notes of fumed lipstick and powder from the actors’ dressing room, in a fragrant performance that is blended, aged and filled in-house in Geneva, Switzerland. The Opera is Burning is an olfactory tale that can be told to relax or seduce.
Our Le Diffuseur is designed to be an olfactory centrepiece that releases its perfume passively for up to 3 months. The glass flacon is made in Germany and is finished off by hand in our atelier in Geneva, making each piece a true unicat. Le Diffuseur can either be placed on top of its handmade box (made in-house using traditional bookbinding techniques) or stacked onto other Diffuseur flacons by Créateur Olfactif, to form our Triptyque.

To tell the story of Le Khédive, a fine Egyptian tobacco factory that opened its doors in Geneva in 1913, Créateur Olfactif created this Diffuseur with a carefully balanced accord out of the unique qualities of the two types of tobacco leaves used by the factory: spicy Oriental tobacco leaves and sweet Maryland tobacco leaves. He embellishes them with facets of dark, ripe plum, before refining the composition with notes of the narcotic white tobacco flower, creating an intricate play between the leathery and the floral, between the masculine and the feminine. Les Femmes du Khedive is blended, aged and filled in-house in Geneva, Switzerland.

Inspired by a beach in Copenhagen, next to Créateur Olfactif’s childhood home, Première Mer is perhaps the most personal in the first collection by Créateur Olfactif Genève. It describes an encounter with an old man on a mission to view the world from the eyes of his younger self once more: with curiosity and excitement.

For Milano Design Week, I wanted to let the @createurolfactif objects tell the story themselves.
At the entrance of the Swiss Pavilion, we created an installation built around a large-scale replica of our new box, surrounded by characters, fragments, and scenes from our universe of narrative perfumery.
A small theatre that invited guests to forget the every day and reconnect with their inner child in the Créateur Olfactif universe, where reality and fantasy intertwine through perfume.

🇬🇧 A Narrative Perfume by Créateur Olfactif in the form of a scented candle. Créateur Olfactif Genève uses smoky French cade and Virginian cedar in contrast with a smoky lipstick accord, to recount the story of the fire that ravaged Geneva’s opera house on the 1st of May, 1951, during the Third Act of Wagner’s Die Walküre.
The Narrative Scented Candle is made in Switzerland using a closely guarded formula and ingredients reserved for high perfumery. It is blended and aged in-house in Geneva.
