Newly completed: a comprehensive website for artist @leodufeu . A space designed to function as an archive of his work, somewhere to share ongoing research and journal entries and, in time, a shop. Leo and I have been working together for around a year, developing the site alongside a series of mentoring sessions focussed on different aspects of his practice and career. It’s been rewarding to help shape a platform that reflects both the breadth of his work and the ethos behind it. Leo’s practice is entirely his own. It’s thoughtful, heartfelt and deeply connected to environmental concerns, particularly his work on the Isle of May, which acts as the site’s featured page. His paintings, installations and research-led projects carry a quiet sensitivity to ecology and human impact, always with a sense of curiosity. The site is now live at leodufeu.co.uk | Leo also has a solo exhibition opening soon at Burgh Halls Gallery, Linlithgow

Recently completed for @tathagallery : a publication to accompany @joefan219 ’s excellent solo exhibition ‘The Little Dog Laughed.’ The book brings together Joe’s semi-autobiographical paintings, created specifically for the show, realised in his unmistakable style – humorous, lighthearted and gently irreverent. Memories, imagined scenes and make-believe worlds where Joe controls the narrative throughout. Lavender cover card to match the palette within by @gfsmithpapers | Beautifully printed and foiled by @wintersimpsonprint

A few years ago we built this website for Norman Gilbert. The artist’s family, alongside @createcreate.co designed an online space to honour his life and legacy. Norman (1926–2019) was both a dedicated artist and a devoted family man. His bold, moving, patterned paintings – filled with colour, rhythm and intimacy – capture the beauty of his everyday life and relationships. Together with his sons, we created an ambitious online archive: a full catalogue of works, alongside a detailed timeline that charts Norman’s remarkable career. The site was designed to echo the vibrancy of Norman’s style, with extra insights, photography and film. In recent years Norman’s work has found new audiences, including the memorable ‘A Life in Colour’ @tathagallery . His vision continues to resonate. Prints can also be purchased directly from the site’s shop. 🔗 normangilbert.com #normangilbert #patternandcolour #scottishart #modernpainting #artarchive #digitalarchive #contemporaryscottishart #arthistory #celebratingartists #websitedesign #digitaldesign #artistwebsite #designforartists

When I decided to upgrade my website at the beginning of this year, I knew exactly who to ask. David Cass @createcreate.co who is a fantastic artist in his own right, listened to everything I asked and delivered so much more. I wanted simplicity and clean lines, colours that complimented my palette and above all a website that was easy to use. I am so pleased with it. Thank you David 🙏. So many people have asked me who was behind it and so now you know 😊 #website #websitedesign #simplicity #cleanlines #palette #artist #fineartist #artonline #create #davidcass #contemporaryimpressionism #swainfo

A closer look at The Watermill Gallery re-brand campaign. Rather than one single static logo, we have a group of typeface variations set against three signature colours – used online, upon the gallery building and its van, and on directional signs around the grounds. Explore more on a new two-part website, with a unique dual-menu, at zannawilson.com – a space for the artist’s portfolio and an online home for The Watermill Gallery. Introducing a new visual identity for @thewatermillgallery and its curator @zannawilson . We worked through dozens of colour combinations before settling on the key shade of Malahide by @edwardbulmerpaint – which offers a striking yet elegant contrast to the stonework of the Old Barn building which houses the iconic gallery in #Aberfeldy. Beautiful hand-painted main signage by @thomas_paints and high quality printed signage by @writeonsigns carry Zanna’s new font and logo. Find more images of the project captured by @lauraatilimanphotography on a new two-part website: a home for Zanna’s folio and gallery information, launched to coincide with the opening of the exhibition ‘In Situ’ tomorrow. 🔗 Design for creatives by @createcreate.co #visualidentitydesign #gallerydesign #renovationproject #rebrand #typographyinspiration #typelove #edwardbulmerpaint #artwebsite #websitedesign

A look at @carinaekdahlprigmore ’s website – designed to be reflective of her soft, sensitive palette, whilst firmly setting the focus on her paintings and their textures. Carina’s artworks are memories of place, shaped by distinct seasons, dramatic light and layered mark‑making. This stripped back site supports that calm intensity. A dual‑purpose site for artist & poet @jean_gillespie_artist – minimal, uncluttered, and with a focus on text. Soft background blocks support poems, sound pieces and visual artworks; images run full‑width and sharp. Jean’s practice moves between print, sound and the written word – responding to overlooked traces in landscape. The site’s structure reflects that quiet complexity. As always, the artist has full site control and access – as a fellow artist, I design sites which can be managed by the owner – so that content stays as alive and evolving as the art the site presents. www.jeangillespie.art A full list of website projects (and more) can be found at www.createcreate.co

Looking over artist website projects today. Here’s one of my favourites, built for @helenglassfordart . This is a clean, spacious site, made using custom coded elements to suit the artist’s fluid, atmospheric landscapes. We refreshed the design at the end of last year to accompany her solo show ‘The Phenomenal World’ and its accompanying film & book. A tireless creative, Helen needed to be able to update the site on her own, and often. With every website I produce the client has total access for updates and maintenance: for adding blog posts, marking works as sold, adjusting stock, adding to the timeline. As an artist myself, I understand the importance of having full control of my online presence. A full list of website projects (and more) can be found at www.createcreate.co

Looking back at another book project today, this time by the wonderfully talented @helenglassfordart , and her 2019 @tathagallery exhibition ‘Immerse.’ This 88p publication is litho-printed (a great choice for artwork reproduction) and crafted from 100% FSC certified papers. The soft-touch cover features embossed text and a foil-stamped logo, creating a striking contrast with Helen’s bold cover painting of the same name (‘Immerse’, oil on board, 120 x 120cm). Additionally, createcreate.co designed Helen’s website at helenglassford.co.uk, one of the most extensive artist website projects to date – with blog, virtual studio space, archive and online store. #artbook #designforartists #helenglassford #scottishart #contemporarypainting #landscapepainter #designforprint #lithoprint #bookdesigner

A look at @kathhaddenart ’s stunning ‘A Painting a Day’ book project. It was a pleasure to work with Kath on what became a rather epic volume, featuring a year’s worth of intimate, small-scale paintings; glimpses into her daily life, accompanied by handwritten texts. 📘 Over 370 pages, beautifully printed by @pureprintgroup , using excellent sustainable @gfsmithpapers @colorplan_papers www.createcreate.co | #bookdesigner #designforartists #sustainabledesign #artbooks #apaintingaday
