Comment worksheets and I’ll send you a free PDF version of decision download in my Project Clarity Worksheets When you try to tackle big projects all at once, your brain gets overwhelmed by the number of tasks and shuts down. It’s not a motivation problem. Your brain is overloaded. Try this instead. First, dump everything that needs to be done onto paper, broken out by room. Getting it out of your head is an immediate relief. Then add three categories for each room: • 15 minutes or less • 1 Hour • Hour+ Sort each task into a time bucket. Each week, tackle one thing from each category. One quick win. One medium task. One longer project. You’re not trying to finish the house. You’re closing unfinished loops that are draining your energy without you realizing it. If you’re ready for my complete design process, this is exactly what I teach inside my course Confident Home Design, linked in my bio or comment course and I’ll send you the link. #colorfulhome #colorfuldecor #diyhomeimprovement #colorfuldesign diyhomeprojects

Hit follow if you’re looking for a colorful DIYer who shares ways to create a home you love on any budget. Let me introduce myself a little more. I’m Kathleen! A 36 (almost 37) year old former art teacher turned full-time content creator. I’m a new mom and trying to find the balance of being a stay at home mom and a working mom. I believe our homes should shine with our personalities. They should be unique and weird and a love letter to everything that brings us joy. I decorate based on what I like, not some future owner. I believe most things can be fixed with a coat of paint and I won’t live in a home I hate just because I can’t afford the bigger renovation. I balance budget friendly options with splurges we’ve saved for. I promise to show up exactly as I am. With makeup, or without. Happy and sad. Wins and fails. Creating a home you love takes time and it’s a lot of trial and error. Sometimes the fear of messing up can stop us from ever getting started but It’s never too late to make a change and I believe in going for it. Even when it’s scary. Especially if it’s scary. If you need help. I’m here. Seriously. I always answer. I’m a real person just trying my best and encouraging you to do the same. We got this! If you got this far, you’re the best ✨ introduce yourself below so we can meet other color lovers! #colorfulhome #colorfuldecor #diyhomeimprovement #colorfuldesign #diyhomeprojects

If you look at your walls from the side and see streaky lines, this is for you. These are the techniques I now use to get a better finish. The biggest difference I noticed was when I switched from the generic foam roller to a @purdypainttools microfiber roller. It holds enough paint but also doesn’t splatter. (Unless you’re using a really cheap quality paint, then splatter may still happen) I also realized that if you have to put pressure on your roller to get the paint off, you’re not using enough paint. Your roller should move freely and easily from top to bottom before you have to reload. Another tip, never stop painting a wall halfway. If you start a wall you have to finish it before stopping. Otherwise, you’ll see a line from where the paint dried and you started again. If you want a list of the exact supplies I use, it’s linked in my bio. You can also comment supplies and I’ll send it to you. #diy #paintingtips #diyhomeprojects #diyhome #paintingtechniques

If it’s ugly, paint it. When we first bought our fixer-upper five years ago, I knew I couldn’t afford a big renovation so I painted almost every surface of our kitchen. Floors, backsplash, cabinets, countertops, appliances you name it. You don’t have to wait to create a home you love. If you’re not sure where to start, I can help. This is exactly what I teach inside Confident Home Design. It’s a practical design course that helps you stop second-guessing, prioritize your projects, and move forward with clarity. Comment course and I’ll send you the link. You can also find it linked in my bio. You can also comment supplies and I’ll send you the paint I used. #colorfulhome #colorfuldecor #diyhomeimprovement #colorfuldesign #diyhomeprojects
