🎬 PORTLAND LOCATION SPOTLIGHT: Neskowin Ghost Forest 🎬
Looking for a location that feels truly otherworldly? Just a couple hours from Portland, the Neskowin Ghost Forest offers one of the most unique cinematic landscapes in the Pacific Northwest.
🌊 Ancient tree stumps emerging from the ocean at low tide
🌫️ Eerie, atmospheric coastal visuals
🌲 Remains of a 2,000-year-old forest revealed by shifting sands
📍 Neskowin Beach, Oregon Coast
Once buried for centuries, this “ghost forest” only appears at low tide—creating a haunting, cinematic environment that feels like another world. Perfect for drama, horror, sci-fi, or anything surreal.
For Portland 48HFP teams, this is the kind of location that instantly elevates your film’s visual identity.

🎬 SEATTLE LOCATION SPOTLIGHT: Scatter Creek Wildlife Area 🎬
Looking for a Washington location that doesn’t feel like the typical PNW forest? Scatter Creek Wildlife Area offers wide-open prairie landscapes, winding waterways, and rare Garry oak ecosystems just south of Olympia.
🌾 One of the last remaining Puget Sound prairies
🌳 Garry oaks, wildflowers, and glacially formed terrain
🎥 Multiple looks: grassland, creekside, oak groves, and forest edges
📍 Thurston County (near Grand Mound & Rochester)
Formed by retreating glaciers thousands of years ago, this landscape gives filmmakers a completely different visual palette—big skies, textured الأرض, and natural light that feels more like the inland West than Western Washington.
Whether you’re building a period world, a sci-fi environment, or something surreal, Scatter Creek gives your 48 a distinct visual edge.
