Wasn’t going to post this, but a lot of my customers know him so a bit of a sad personal post. Early days of my business I was fully mobile, and a lot of you would have met the apprentice Teddy Westside. Unfortunately yesterday we had to say the final goodbye. One of the best apprentices one could have asked for, and even made mobile jobs in places like Stabrador never an unsafe location. Will miss you buddy.
With age comes wisdom, and back pain but let’s gloss over that part. When you’ve figured out what works for you and what you like, there isn’t much point in changing the recipe.
We had the pleasure of modifying Tom’s original Amarok, and when he recently got in touch wanting to update to the new model, we knew the recipe.
From front to back, a set of @roadsafe4wd front recovery points, hidden Lightbar behind the grill, a @unidenaustralia 9060 with a @gmf4x4 bonnet antenna bracket, @safari4x4engineering snorkel, and @smartcap_australia canopy.
Tom likes his cars reliable, quick, and sounding good, so a @mantaperformance exhaust combined with a custom CRD Tech ECU tune, had the performance Tom had come to expect when he comes to visiting CRD Tech Darling Downs.
If I can assist you with your vehicle, be it pre or post delivery, don’t hesitate to get in touch.
Cheers
About 70% of our business is actually directly to trade customers, and has been for a long time. Not just dealerships, but a fair few other 4wd and automotive workshops. Why? Because any time you can help out other businesses by offering more services it helps the customer out, and can also work both ways with work recommendations.
A customer of ours that we did a big fit out for 5 years ago got in touch two weeks back, saying he was ready to upgrade and wanted us to do that work, but wanted to make it an easy solution to have all mods done before he had to pick the car up. So we got the team at @wippellsvolkswagen to give him a bell, who got him the exact car he was after, we quoted up all the accessories that was required, and within 24 hours the car and parts were on the way. Two weeks later, everything is on site, all to be ready for a Friday delivery. Not bad for two phone calls and one email.
If I can assist you with your vehicle, or you have a business looking to add tuning, accessories and/or ADAS calibration to your capabilities, don’t hesitate to get in touch.
Over a month ago I did a post about fuel savings due to the fuel ‘crisis’, remove roof racks, tyres etc. Now doesn’t that seem familiar? Yet I didn’t charge you guys 20 million for the pleasure of reading it. @albomp if you’re going to rip off my content, at least compensate a fella, 5 million will do, you’ve got my bank details, it’s the same one that you spent some of the 20 million tax payer funding out of. Don’t make me send an invoice or there will be additional fees, chop chop. Have a good weekend all.
Emma recently got in touch, she just ordered her dream car and wanted to get it prepared exactly to her specifications before delivery.
Frontal protection was needed and a good highbeam system for those late night country drives. So the adult Lego began working on a @toowoombalandrover@defender . After pulling 30 trim pieces off, it’s time to start bolting the @offroad_animal Toro bullbar on complete with a double row @stedi_lighting Lightbar.
Emma runs a fridge full time but didn’t want any of the rear space compromised, so a hidden system under the rear was selected. The stock foam was removed and replaced with tuffant rear undertray, then we installed with a 40amp dcdc, 120a/h slimline battery and tray from @kickassproducts , being fed from the factory accessory points under the bonnet.

I remember when we were about to have our first kid, everyone said ‘oh your camping days are over, you’ll never go again’. I mean sure, it changed a bit, got a better setup etc, but life didn’t change, it just slightly modified itself.
With any major changes in life, a slight modification is needed. With the cost of fuel at the moment, we’ve seen our customers do the same. The big trips may have been paused, but the quick trips around the one-three hour mark is now the new go too, and we’re seeing that in the mods we’re doing now. Sure prepping vehicles for the big upcoming trips once the nonsense is over hasn’t changed, but a few simpler battery and lighting systems has been the rage last couple of weeks.
So thought we’d jump on the band wagon and after an early Friday knock off, went to an old haunt we haven’t been too for years only an hour and half from home. Lovely, have a great weekend all, back on Monday.
Ahhh, got to love a long weekend. Been a busy few weeks with a variety of jobs, here’s just a snippet of those I remembered to get photos of.
Two tone bars have been all the rage for a couple of years, but in VW’s Atlantic blue metallic, this one is my favourite. Customer just picked up this Amarok in fantastic condition, but wanted it modded. @arb_toowoomba summit bullbar in custom two tone, @altiq_au led spotlights, front end coil spring upgrade to account for the extra weight, and a CRD tech transmission tune to sort out the reverse issues and help towing the van.
Few vehicles in for tunes and Adas calibrations, this @bydtoowoomba Shark had a couple of sensor issues after fitting a bullbar, a full calibration on all front sensors had it back working to OEM spec through @adassystemsaustralia .
The 79 series favourite of a dual exit @mantaperformance 3” exhaust complete with CRD Tech ECU tune had the V8 sounding and driving like it should. And finally an @elecbrakesau installation on a new @toowoombatoyota Prado for tow duties of @vnenvy for this weekends @rockynats .

PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCMENT. Remember the Easter bunny hates @danmurphys and makes him shut up shop on Friday, so get that sweet nectar by tomorrow. I’m assuming that’s what tonight’s big announcement is about so no need to tune in to that noise now.
