Greetings y’’all, I am Cordell Jones, a fourth year Broadcast Journalism scholar from Broward County, FL (Miramar to be exact). About 2 years ago, I created “FAMU, Let It All Out”. A mental health forum/google doc allowing students an anonymous space to let their emotions out as well as list as many mental health resources, foundations, and tools available to us as FAMU students.
As someone who is always up front about the mental health trials and tribulations that happen to me as a college student, I wanted to make sure folks have the tools early on so they don’t find out what’s around them too late. Over the past 2 years, college has definitely done a number and has caused me not to be as active with the platform as I can be. It’s all me, so it falls on me to be accountable for it
However, as I near my last year on the hill, I want to make sure this resource can exist beyond a form and is something that students can use to find resources, research, foundations, toolkits, and more to aid in making a student’s mental health in college not be a solo mission. Showing that there’s so much out there to support and help out, on and off campus.
I’m so happy to announce the launch of the official website, famuletitallout.com (paid for that domain too so we official lol). On there you can find what LIAO is all about, all the resources that existed on the list prior with more being added, as well as research, toolkits, and videos/podcasts that all deal with mental health in different and unique ways. I’m always open to critique and criticism to make it better so it can better for the students that interact with it. Also have plans for more stuff involving the Instagram
@letitalloutfamu , so stay tuned for that!! Continue to Let It All Out, and thank you all for the support for this resource!
