a few weeks ago, i was reading down thru a playlist Aphex Twin/Richard James had procured...and there it was at #49 of his playlist: “Cardboard Lamb” by Crash Course In Science!
now, i’m not sure if Richard James and i had discussed that particular song on the SEE THE LIGHT TOUR we were on together for a month in 1993 but the language of music is so universal...i wonder, when did Richard first hear this track? it was released on a small label and not a well-known song. take out the vocals, and it sounds like a Richard James kinda composition. even with the vocals it still sounds like something Richard might have produced.- Mark Gage (Vapourspace)

Monday’s soundtrack: Crash Course In Science ‘Near Marineland’ a full-length LP recorded in 1981 but remained unreleased in its time. Crucial listening for all devotees of synth-punk and minimal electronics.
