Woke up and decided to suffer… I mean run hills. Great morning in the national park. It’s been a month or so since I last did this workout. Feels good to be on par an at times outperforming myself just before race. - Haven’t lost fitness during down time. Yew

Anndddd we’re back. Completed the 50k, went to a festival afterwards and I think my body forced a reset on me. - Ready to go again! Going to start looking to see what future races to do this week but until then I will continue to get back to 50k a week. - Going to implement some strength training for lower legs so I can mitigate the fatigue this time round. It’s the only thing that let me down so if I sit that out, I should be sweet!

First ever ultra completed - What an awesome and truly hard experience. I was absolutely humming up to 36k and then my legs just fatigued way too much and I was just surviving at that point. - Heart rate was also quite high but It wasn’t effecting me , I felt great so I pushed on. - Really hard to let people pass and not get caught up in the whole race side of things. My plan was to go out at 6:15-6:30 pace for the first 10 and then a bit quicker the next 10 and so on. - The Real race started at 30k which is where I caught up to most of them! I was in a negative split all the way up to 36k. - I raced 4/5 great and the last 10 was by far the hardest 10k of my life. If I can figure out how I can get my legs to withstand that impact for longer. I’d cut my time by by 40 minutes at least! - Fueling and fluids were great. My watch died about 35k in so I was kinda guessing when to fuel which to occasional time check from other competitors. ( could of had something to do with my fatigue at the end) - Not sure what to train for now. I guess I’ll decide if I want to do another 🤔

One day until we race!! - I feel pretty good. Definitely nervous and wondering if I’ve trained enough! - My hip flexors are sore which I think is due to the taper week. - Another factor is I’ve been surfing tea tree a bunch which is a good 3k round trip walk. Worth it but hopefully that’s doesn’t sway my race haha

All about keep the legs fresh this week. Nothing crazy. Just nice and loose for the race which is in 5 days! - Noosa is such a good spot for runs. Great to check the waves whilst you’re at it! - Last night I took some time to reflect on my training from the last 7 weeks. I tend to forget all of that happened. Thinking about that makes me realize that I can have some confidence going into this because it’s backed by pure effort. - Lfg

Last long run before the race next week! - Felt pretty good. I think the muscles in my lower legs are starting to get used to the amount of kms I’ve been doing. - My predictions for next week are that I’ll 100% finish but not sure what my time will be haha - My goal is around the 5 hour mark. Hopefully the legs stay in tact and we can make it happen
