My 2025 calendars are now available. Images of Bass Coast and South Gippsland. $25 including postage within Australia. A4 in size, which folds out to A3 when hanging on the wall (roughly 30cm wide and 42cm high). Discounts available when ordering 3 or more (I combine postage for multiple calendars, and won’t charge postage if you pick up directly from me). Send a message if interested. It’s the perfect time to get them now if sending overseas in time for Christmas. You can also pick one up at Parry’s Korumburra #southgippsland #basscoast

2023. What a year it was! Sunrises, sunsets, storms, whale watching, wildlife and the amazing southern lights. Gotta love where we live! Thanks for coming along on the journey. I’m always amazed at students asking me “when am I gonna use maths in real life?” It’s everywhere. Here at one of my favourite locations you might need some graphic reading skills for checking the tide & swell before a surf, working out the timing for sunrise or astrophotography, or even getting involved in one of the dinosaur fossil expeditions in this part of the coast (although the tide is a bit high in these pics. Then going further, maths in designing & building the boats that head out here, the wind turbines & lighthouses in the distance (not quite visible in these photos), and even working out the budget for fuel to get here, and to buy fish n chips to enjoy by the sea. The list goes on and on and on….. Who’s the little cutie in this pic, well that’s the @mathspace mascot & ai assistant Milo, who gets consulted in some of my classes at school, and I was lucky enough to get a real one (who’s been popular with those he’s met at school so far). #milosmathsexpedition #mathspace
