On DAY 5 of CRAFT Animfest 2025 (1 November 2025) we collaborated with Manajemen Talenta Nasional (MTN) Seni Budaya - Film and presented two learning programs that explored animation beyond technique - positioning it as a medium of storytelling, emotion, and cultural expression. Held at Studio Kalahan, the programs connected emerging animation talents with reflective, hands-on, and cross-disciplinary approaches. Not less than 80 animation talents were gathered to joined one of two programs; MTN Asah Bakat x Wayang Lostang MTN Asah Bakat x Masterclass Julia Hazuka Through Wayang Lostang Workshop, participants explored the “los tang” method—letting go of rigid control to embrace intuition, spontaneity, and collaboration. By creating manual assets and building stories collectively, the session highlighted animation as a fluid and process-driven practice rooted in experimentation. Meanwhile, Masterclass with Julia Hazuka guided participants through the emotional and symbolic language of traditional animation, using The Grand Mother as a case study. Together, these sessions embodied MTN Asah Bakat’s mission: nurturing talents by bridging local cultural roots with universal storytelling in animation. . #craftanimfest2025 #ManajemenTalentaNasional #CraftAnimFest #animationfestival

☀️ It was early morning on the second day of CRAFT Animfest 2025 when the screening room transformed into a creative space filled with tables, sketch papers, and drawing tools. It was time for the masterclass “Anime Drawing Methods” with Yoshiharu Ashino — a three-hour session packed with techniques, insights, tips, and tricks for over 20 selected animators. The session was conducted bilingually in Bahasa Indonesia and Japanese, with the help of interpreter Taichi Mori. Captured by volunteering photographer Habib Al Farizi, here’s a glimpse into the inspiring atmosphere of the workshop. Special thanks to The Japan Foundation, Jakarta, for their support in making this session possible. 🇯🇵🎨 . #craftanimfest2025
