What an amazing initiative for Melbourne. Make Room is getting ready to welcome its first residents.
This Australian-first supportive-housing project features 50 studio apartments with onsite wraparound support from cohealth and Ngwala Willumbong, creating pathways out of homelessness for our community’s most vulnerable people.
This is a unique partnership between the City of Melbourne, the Victorian Government and Unison Housing, Make Room will change and save lives.
I’m now spending quite a bit of time in this place! Our stunning Melbourne Town Hall with projections for Christmas. And for those who love an organ, this grand acoustic pipe organ is the biggest in the southern hemisphere with 9592 pipes, drums and bells and spans three levels of Town Hall.
At last week’s VTIC Victorian Tourism Industry Council awards, we celebrated the very best in the industry. It was a great honour to be there to support @nickreecemelbourne@lordmayormelb with my fellow councillor Rafael Camillo. Congratulations to an amazing marketing team at City of Melbourne for winning Gold for Local Government Tourism and Silver for Tourism Marketing & Campaigns. You should all be so proud of your work and the acknowledgement by the industry of its excellence.
It was such an honour to represent the City of Melbourne with my colleague Cr Rafael Camillo at the closing night of the Melbourne Queer Film Festival. Telling our queer stories helps to improve understanding, compassion and connection within our society and makes Melbourne an even more inclusive city. Congratulations to David Martin Harris and his team, Gail Veal and Dr David Micallef and
the MQFF Board and all the storytellers that made this festival such a success. So much love in the room 🌈
What a great honour and privilege to be sworn in as Councillor for the City of Melbourne. I am a born and raised, proud Melburnian and I now have the chance, over the next four years, to give back to a city that has given me so much.
