We want to hear from staff about what gaps exist in the process of reporting and seeking accountability for sexual harassment and misconduct in congressional offices.
Please fill out our totally anonymous survey on cpsaDC.org.
Many lawmakers debate rural America without listening to rural communities.
This Thursday, join Ecumenical Economics and @cpsaDC for a briefing on globalization, market power, and how the government can better reinvest in our rural communities.
Snacks on us! RSVP at cpsaDC.com
Stop by and meet up with fellow progressives at our first CPSA Happy Hour of 2026. Come meet the Board, unwind from the office, and connect with like-minded staff!
We’ll be joined by special guest Mohsen Mahdawi, the student activist from Columbia University arrested by ICE at his immigration hearing and detained for protesting the Palestinian genocide.
As congressional staffers, we will not stand by while power is used to intimidate communities, silence dissent, and erode fundamental rights.
That’s why the Board of CPSA today released a statement on the escalating violence at the hands of ICE.

Exciting update — because the government has reopened, we are able to move this week’s CPSA potluck lunch indoors!
Join us in Cannon 156 at noon tomorrow (11/14), and please RSVP so we know how many to expect. ➡️ cpsaDC.org
Bring what you can, as well as your appetite! Amid this record-breaking shutdown, it’s important staffers look out for one another and find community. At noon this Friday, CPSA will be holding a potluck lunch in Spirit of Justice Park directly behind Longworth.
Everyone is welcome, though for those who can afford to, please bring something you can share with others.
We recommend people with first names starting with A-H bring a protein, I-R bring a side, and S-Z bring a snacks, drinks, or desserts. Please RSVP at cpsaDC.org so we know how many people to expect. See you there!
Up and down the ballot, progressives won across the country last night. Don’t miss our election briefing tomorrow with Lead Locally for a conversation about what these victories can tell us about the future of Democratic politics and the 2026 elections. 🗳️

The Center for Economic and Policy Research (CEPR), Demand Progress, and Progressive Talent Pipeline invite you to a conversation between Pulitzer Prize-winning historian Greg Grandin and author and journalist Ryan Grim as they discuss Grandin’s latest New York Times bestseller, America, América: A New History of the New World, a sweeping five-century narrative of the turbulent relationship between an expansionist United States and the nations of Latin America, and how that relationship has largely shaped the identities of both.
The event will open with remarks from Francesca Emanuele, Senior International Policy Associate at CEPR. Francesca specializes in US policy toward Latin America and the Caribbean, with a focus on human rights, democracy, economic development, and regional integration across the Americas.

📢 UNITE HERE Local 23 is calling for a boycott at the House campus. Food service workers are calling on Members of Congress, House staff, and all guests not to eat, drink, or meet at these outlets in the House office buildings:
🌮 PX Tacos / Java House
🍜 CHA Street Food
☕ Black Crown Collective Coffee
☕ Starbucks
🥪 Jimmy Johns
✊ The workers are demanding that the new subcontractors hire them back with full wages and benefits. The House recently brought on new subcontractors to replace Sodexo, some of whom have still not agreed to bring back the workers, and none of whom have agreed to maintain worker payrates and benefits. @uniteherel23
