Daydreamer is a finalist for the Nebula, Andre Norton Award in middle grade and YA fiction. This is the book that taught me how to write, and these are just some of the milestones. Thank you everyone for your votes, and congratulations to my fellow finalists!

Children deal with dragons everyday.
This is the message behind my first novel, Daydreamer, coming out August, 2024. I've been waiting ten years to tell this story. I guess, a couple more months won't kill me. But today, I'm finally able to share the cover. More details coming soon.

On my other Instagram, I posted this video, unboxing of the surprise DAYDREAMER arcs my editor sent me. My youngest daughter stole the show, literally. The hardcopies came this week. But there is no way I'm going to compete with that unboxing. So I'm planning sometime a little... different. In the mean time, here's an overdose of cute. If you've already watched this, can't hurt to watch it again. Pass the word. This little girl's got the magic touch
Yesterday’s panel @fanfairenyc with @cprwords went really well. Lots of great convos about telling stories in prose and graphic novel formats. Thanks to @jamaliglecomics for moderating and jumping in to help us answer an art question! Special shout out to @ellesaurarts for the beautiful sketch ( swipe to see). We were honored to be drawn by you! @frankensteinsuperstar and @lisaburd are back today. We’re at table 506 selling and signing copies of Love Letters, Every Day, new zines and hand painted art cards. Plus, we’ll be doing a workshop in comic making, “How to comic strip your life,” at 2pm. 🔥
Just finished the first three chapters of my next middle grade novel pitch, How to Cook a Hero. Couldn't have done it without @javascafe . Outside of NYC, this is my second home for words and worlds. Here, I'm surrounded by art, music, and the vibes are perfect chill. Okay, only one YA pitch, two short stories, a couple picture books, two events, some email correspondence, and a bunch of social media posts to go.
Haven't yet fully processed #Readercon, but getting on the road tomorrow for my first ever #GenCon Writer's Symposium. I'ma be busy on 9 panels! Only Maurice Broaddus could get me to drive cross Ohio. Where's my green book? See you all soon!
Next Saturday I trek from NYC to Syracuse for the Light a Candle for Literacy parade and 📚 festival! Also happens to be the same day as the Nebula awards! So come Saturday night, I'll either been tired but 😁 or tired but 🤯. #booklover #syracuse #middlegradebooks #lightacandleforliteracy #nebulas #andrenorton
