I remain committed to continuous training and professional development to better serve the City of Lakewood. Most recently, I visited Southern California Edison to gain a deeper understanding of how we can improve reliability and responsiveness in our community.
.
During this visit, I focused on several key areas: How can we reduce the amount of time streetlights remain out of service? How effectively are power outages identified and resolved? And most importantly, how prepared are we as a city to respond to emergencies and natural disasters?
.
At the management level, I am also evaluating whether we have comprehensive Emergency Action Plans in place to support the timely dispatch of first responders. Equally critical is how we communicate with our residents, ensuring that information is clear, timely, and actionable.
.
As we continue to strengthen Lakewood’s overall concept of operations, I would like to hear from you:
.
* Are you aware of how to report outages or infrastructure issues in your neighborhood?
* Do you feel informed and prepared in the event of a power outage or emergency?
* What communication methods (text alerts, email, social media, etc.) work best for you during urgent situations?
* Have you experienced delays in outage response or streetlight repairs?
* What additional steps can the City take to help you feel safer and better prepared?
.
Your input is essential as we work collaboratively to enhance public safety, improve infrastructure reliability, and ensure Lakewood remains resilient and prepared for any challenge.
