Professor Knopf's EWS 3600S community partner is the Pomona Public Library! š
With 300,000+ books in multiple languages, internet access, genealogy resources, media collections, and programs for kids, teens, and adults, itās more than a library; itās a community hub.
This semester, Professor Knopf and his students have volunteered with the @pomonapubliclibraryfoundation Homework Club and have held sound baths that are open to the community!
Professor Paul Daniel Knopf is the current coordinator for the Cal Poly Pomona Teacher Academy and a lecturer in the Ethnic Studies department. He has been a public-school teacher since 1996 and started the first service-learning program for the Pomona Unified School District, leading as the coordinator from 2006 to 2019. He served in both the United States Navy and Army reserves. Professor Knopf also began a non-profit organization called āImpact Earthā that currently works on promoting positive stories to inspire change.
This spring, Mr. Knopf is teaching EWS3600S: Culture of Children and is partnering with the Pomona Public Library. Their plan is to support the Homework Club and hold sound baths at the library. š¶
