Recovered From my Granny Miller's negatives. This came from a folder marked "Eighth Grade Class." (circa 1939/1940...I think!) I believe they may have been one of her first rolls of film ever taken. Although they are in rough shape, and I don't believe were ever really printed, I love the story that each frame tells. Quite a few have suffer from a multitude of errors, but I really love each frame immensely. I'm still on this crazy project I started in 2008, and I by golly I'm going to finish it this year if its the last thing I do! #Filmscans #digitization #1939 #midwest #somewhereinohio

Some musings from my little 72 hour sneak in to Saint Louis. The drive is always long, but I'm always thankful to see this beautiful brick city again. I ran 13 miles through the city on Saturday, and managed to get an excursion to the Pulitzer and the Contemporary in on Sunday. Absence makes the heart grow fonder as they say. #STL #STLMADE #pulitzermuseum #camstl

In the studio I take hundreds of images that only exist for me. Maybe I should get a manicure and drink more water. #colorchecker #studiophotographer #houston

Studio Photography Heirloom Project: Four of Sixteen Morgantown Crinkle Tea Glasses in "Amethyst." These were fun to research, but I still am unsure about the actual date of manufacturing of these specific glasses. The Amethyst color was popular, and my grandparents may have picked them up at any point in the 1960s or 1970s. The one useless bit of trivia I picked up is that Jackie Kennedy chose some stemware from the Morgantown glass company for the white house in 1961, but that boost in stardom did not save the company from closing eventually in the early 1970s. At home, I only have four out for practical reasons, with the remainder in storage, but can tell you they make a great vessel for a dark and stormy cocktail. For Photography Specs: I actually came back to these a few times. The glasses themselves can become a pale or intense purple depending on the lights chosen. I eventually chose "hard lights" with gels and some plexi surfaces to show off the glass reflections and imperfections. #studiophoto #heirloom #heirloomproject #studiosunday #artistsoninstagramً

Family Heirloom in the photo studio. Fitz and Flloyd Camel Salt and Pepper Shaker circa 1978. My Granddad was obsessed with Egypt, and camels. I'm happy that I was able to keep a piece of his obsession, and even happier it is still around nearly 50 years later! #fitzandflloyd #saltandpepper #photostudio #camels

Brooklyn Bridge, NY. It was strange to be in a place I had seen in so many movies. Main Street Park was beautiful. #BrooklynBridge #dumbobrooklyn

"- And Tiny Tim...Who Did Not Die!" Muppet Christmas Carol VHS from 1993. I’m continuing my Heirlooms Studio Project with a special piece: a 32-year-old VHS tape of my favorite Christmas movie. The clamshell case, a true symbol of my generation, is worn and faded, but it still magically has its original Jim Henson sticker seal. Somehow after all these years, the tape works, and I just finished my annual holiday viewing. Do you have a favorite tradition this time of year? #muppetchristmascarol #studiophotographer #jimhensonvideo #vhs #clamshellbox
