Day 1 of auditions 🌟 What a day! Day 1 of auditions kicked off with a welcome, presentations, and practical info before we split into groups and got to work. The day moved through workshops and different disciplines. The energy in the room was so special: Excited, a little nervous, and absolutely bursting with talent. A fantastic first day. Thank you again to all those who joined, and for contributing to the good atmosphere 🫶🏼

We are officially a member of @fedec_network ! A week ago we went to Riga to attend FEDEC’s General assembly where our application to become a full member was accepted. We are grateful to offically be a memeber of the network, along side so many other circus schools. Here a little snipper from Tim Roberts who came to visit as a part of our application. Every Thursday we’ll be offering classes dedicated to movers and dancers — a space to explore the energetics of movement through specialized Qigong practices. These sessions are meant to bring our bodies back to effortless moving state. Back to releasing instead of forcing. Back to moving from inside the body rather than from the outside. We will work with alignment, Yin Yang principles, weight, spirals, magnetic field and… exploring how energy moves through the body when we stop pushing and start allowing movement to happen naturally. This workshop is for dancers, movers, bodyworkers, martial artists, and anyone curious about intelligent, effortless movement.Taught by Soroosh Moghaddam. @qi_energy_art 📅 FREE TRIAL: Thursday, May 7 · 17:30 … and then every thursday after. 📍 CCCC, Refshalevej 100 🎟 Tickets will be up later this week.

Like all professional artists, Circus Artists deserve a higher education that equips them with deep knowledge of their craft, technique, and profession. In the words of Tim Roberts, Director of the Quebec City Circus School and former President of FEDEC. Thank you, Tim, for your insight and perspectives.

Kulturmonitor just published a debate article written by Anne Mette (Co-ordinator of Dansk Samtidscirkus and Head of Education at CCCC) and Søren Flor (Head of Program at CCCC): "𝙒𝙝𝙤𝙚𝙫𝙚𝙧 𝙗𝙚𝙘𝙤𝙢𝙚𝙨 [𝘿𝙖𝙣𝙞𝙨𝙝] 𝙈𝙞𝙣𝙞𝙨𝙩𝙚𝙧 𝙤𝙛 𝘾𝙪𝙡𝙩𝙪𝙧𝙚, 𝙖 𝙥𝙚𝙧𝙛𝙤𝙧𝙢𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙖𝙧𝙩𝙨 𝙧𝙚𝙛𝙤𝙧𝙢 𝙨𝙝𝙤𝙪𝙡𝙙 𝙗𝙚 𝙖𝙩 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙩𝙤𝙥 𝙤𝙛 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙩𝙤-𝙙𝙤 𝙡𝙞𝙨𝙩. The election call stopped the reform at the finish line. The work must not start from scratch. […] The performing arts have for years called for a reform that can unite and strengthen the field. It should be an obvious priority for any Minister of Culture to secure better conditions for an art form that encompasses both tradition and renewal, and that plays a significant role in our shared cultural life. […] Denmark has a strong foundation. The country has a number of state-supported and grant-eligible programmes in acting, dance, choreography, and performing arts production - forming the backbone of the artistic ecosystem and ensuring new generations can develop and contribute to the performing arts. But one significant genre remains outside of this community: 𝘾𝙤𝙣𝙩𝙚𝙢𝙥𝙤𝙧𝙖𝙧𝙮 𝘾𝙞𝙧𝙘𝙪𝙨 This is remarkable, as contemporary circus is already in practice an integrated part of the performing arts ecosystem. Circus artists perform not only in classical circus shows, but increasingly in their own companies and on theatre and dance stages, bringing new aesthetic and physical expressions. At the same time, demand for circus artists far exceeds supply - both nationally and internationally. If Denmark is to keep pace with this development, investment in education and talent development in the field is required. A concrete opportunity is now at hand. Based on decades of groundwork, deeply rooted in the Danish and international circus world, and with support from a private investor, a new higher education programme in contemporary circus is opening this year in the former seaplane hangar at Margretheholmen in Copenhagen. […] But without political recognition, the initiative risks standing alone.” Read more through Link in bio 🔗
