Welcome UNO! Our trusty flock of Guinea Fowl (would two be considered a flockā¦?) make daily rounds of the farm mostly sticking close to the grazing animals or the car park where they can spend entire days checking out their own reflections. Why wouldnāt you?
Guinea Fowl are notoriously tricky to breed preferring to nest out in the open where they are quickly picked off by foxes. We thought we could give them a helping hand but sadly UNO is only one of ten hatched, so far š£ š¤
Throughout February we will be offering farm visits for families staying with us. Feed the pigs, meet our organic Stabiliser cattle, learn about the wildlife living on the farm and find out more about our nature friendly farming.

At this time of year itās especially important to support smaller suppliers and producers by buying direct whenever you can. As we are bombarded by messages designed to incite panic buying for stuff we really donāt need or want, take the time if you can to have a look around at the smaller people who canāt make as much noise but are giving you the power to make a purchasing decision that is better for you and better for the planet š

Join us on 6th November @theworkshopdorset for a screening of Wilding, the inspirational true story of a young coupleās mission to regenerate their failing, 400-year-old farm estate in West Sussex. This beautiful film will be followed by a talk from Rob Farington @dorsetwildlife on the recently established re-wilding project at Wild Woodbury near Bere Regis.
Tickets are Ā£20 including organic spicy beef and veggie empanadas. The Workshop bar will be open for drinks before and after the screening. KO 6:30pm.

Investigating our new Freedom Hive from Bee Kind Hives @_beekindhives_ this afternoon.
Made from trees blown down in storms or felled when at risk of falling, these log hives are more thermally efficient than modern thin walled hives. Better insulation reduces stress and energy consumption, maintaining warmth during winter; it also helps to prevent overheating in hot weather.
The removable board on the bottom means at quiet times of the year we all get to have a look at whatās been happeningā¦.excited š
