125,000 m². One shared purpose. Behind one of Norway’s largest hospital projects lies a simple idea: better spaces support better care. The new Stavanger University Hospital combines scale, flexibility, and forward-looking design to support everyday life for patients, staff, and the wider community – today and into the future. The new hospital opened to patients and the public back in November 2025.

Have you heard about Karlatornet, Gothenburg's one and only skyscraper? 🏙️ The design of Karlatornet is highly efficient in terms of floor space and energy usage, while still including apartments with views focused on the city and waterfront. Beyond its individual appeal, Karlatornet contributes to a vision for the entire area, bolstering the overall allure of Gothenburg, especially the post-industrial business district north of Götaälven. In 2014, COWI was part of the team which won the architecture competition for Karlastaden, and COWI has continued to provide various technical services at different stages for the spectacular and exciting urban development project. @arkitema has contributed with construction documents and more than 600 drawings to the project.

In late 2024, the airport in Nuuk opened its new runway as part of a comprehensive expansion and rebuilt of the airport 🛫 This means that larger jets are now landing in Nuuk for the first time, improving the international transportation to and from Greenland. Since 2017, Greenland Airports International has engaged COWI as the engineering designer for this transformative project. COWI remains committed to ensuring support for both Nuuk Airport as well as the two ongoing projects in Ilulissat and Qaqortoq Airports currently under construction.
