Looking for volunteers! This year’s Countertechnique Teacher Training (CTTT) will take place in Amsterdam in two blocks: from 11-21 July and from 7 - 21 August. Countertechnique teachers and aspiring teachers gather to practice, exchange and deepen their insights. We are looking for volunteer dancers for the daily practice sessions from Sat 11 July - Tue 21 July, and from Thu 6 August- Fri 21 August. Founder of Countertechnique Anouk van Dijk returns to New York this June! Limited spots available. After the popular, annual New York Winter Warming, we now introduce a mid-year check in for everyone interested to know more about the applications of Countertechnique: A four-day mini-intensive, Summer Solstice is a mid-year reboot to unfold the body and open to new perspectives. Each day begins with a 2-hour Countertechnique class, followed by a Practical Tools session introducing a new focus. After lunch, we bring these insights into creation and performance, with a special focus on two Countertechnique Toolbox categories: Space and Awareness. Discover how space can become both a supportive and creative partner in your dancing, and how specific tasks can activate intention to fuel both daily training and the creative process. Building on Anouk’s choreographic practice, we explore combining tasks and emotional states, the imagined and what is in front of us, and weaving improvisation into set composition. How can a simple idea unfold into a rich, layered source for movement and reflect meaning back to us? Countertechnique Summer Solstice welcomes dance artists and advanced dance students seeking inspiration to contribute to the creative process, keep dancing engaging, and foster a healthy, joyful work ethic. Curious about Countertechnique? As we celebrate the 20th anniversary of the One Body One Career Countertechnique Intensive (OBOC), we are delighted to introduce a new sister event in 2026. The Countertechnique Summer Special is an open-level workshop in an intimate setting, offering a compact introduction to Countertechnique. Running parallel to OBOC in Amsterdam, participants work with OBOC faculty while experiencing the vibrant international environment of the intensive. Through daily classes, theory and creative sessions, participants explore the Countertechnique movement system. Along the way, they join the OBOC opening on 25 July, meet dance artists from around the world, and are invited to selected OBOC gatherings and events.
