One Story, Two Films! Counter Views is here to bring you both entertainment and a social experiment.
Counter Views focuses on exploring the hows and whys of direction affecting the outcome of a film, specifically how it is that the direction from a distinct sex affects the outcome.
What does that mean? The project is based on a single script that will result in two completely different films. One is directed by a female director, and the other by a male director. Both directors are kept entirely in the dark about each other’s creative choices, allowing their individual visions to unfold independently.

Meaghan is a Chicago-based filmmaker concentrating in directing. She loves all things creative, collaborative, and cannibalistic. She's down for anything — which isn’t an innuendo.
JD is a Chicago based Photographer, Filmmaker, and Writer. He is currently attending DePaul University for a degree in Screenwriting.

Meet Our Amazing Directors!
Sam is an international Film student from Guatemala, with a concentration in Production Design. She is the mind behind Counter Views and the female director of our project. She loves artistic films and impactful stories, and hopes to dedicate her life to creating her own, making an impact on behalf of her people and in the world. What started as a joke is now her directorial debut.
João in an international student from Brazil concentrating in directing. He brings the male perspective to Counter Views and is very excited to embark on this journey. He is passionate about stories that explore depth, meaning and unconventional ideas.
