Announcing “Power - EP” by Philadelphia based producer Countach (aka Zach Fairbrother formerly of digital hardcore band GHÖSH). The EP, which marks the second release from Feel The Four Records, is dark, heavy big room Techno with a healthy dose of Acid and shades of 90s Big Beat. The propulsive first track, “Any Other Way (feat Morgan Garrett),” is streaming now on Bandcamp and YouTube. Power began as a challenge. Zachary Fairbrother began Countach to collect the unfinished scraps and fragments from his band GHÖSH, the digital hardcore duo that broke up in 2023. But when Feel The Four, the Philadelphia-based label run by Cristian Adams and Jarrett Dougherty (ex-Screaming Females), asked him for a proper 12”, he saw an opportunity to push the project in an ambitious new direction.
The result is Power - EP, which finds Fairbrother exploring the freedom of longer run-times and varied textures, all while maintaining the post-industrial vision of his previous work. Across 20 minutes, he runs through propulsive acid house, harsh electro, and ‘90s big beat, using 303s and 808s to build an upbeat but haunting record that’s as indebted to the forebearers of those genres as it is to the grim landscapes of Phillip K. Dick and Paul Verhoeven.

For all your hard work putting together the record and all the work around the release. I Want to thank my wife, Christina and my dog Snowflake for your support, your listening ears and patience. I couldn’t do it without you. Thanks to Morgan Garrett for their awesome vocal contributions, Danny Murillo for killing it with the master and Kevin Keenan for helping me with some mixing production advice. It’s a real honor to have my first solo release ever on vinyl. I worked hard on these four tracks. I feel like I really challenged myself and grew as a producer and mixer. I am Happy that these songs can be out in the world and other people can experience them. Thank you so much to everyone who’s already bought a copy and listened to the record. It means a lot to me when people spend their hard earned money and time listening to artwork that I created. I’m not gonna put this on any of the major streaming platforms so you can only listen to it on Bandcamp or buy the physical or digital copies. Please directly support artist when you can. It’s a radical act these days in this crazy world.
