The Revivalists "Men Amongst Mountains" turns gold!!! It was great working on this album and so nice to see people are feeling it 10 years later. Thanks to Ben Ellman from Galactic for roping me into this project. Be sure to check out the new mix I did of their hit "Wish I knew You" called the "Count 2026 mix". It's a bonus track on their 10 year anniversary release.
So great to see 60 Minutes doing a segment on the Mardi Gras Indians. I've worked on songs with Monk Boudreaux (with Galactic), Cha Wa's Grammy nominated Spyboy, and on the recent Grammy nominated Trombone Shorty / New Breed Brass Band album "Second Line Sunday". Such a unique and interesting part of New Orleans culture. Cool to see it is making some noise outside of New Orleans.
At Skywalker Ranch with the talented Boots Riley for a special screening for Ryan Coogler for Boots’ new film “I Love Boosters”. You’ve never seen anything like it. Truly a unique film. Good luck at the SXSW premiere tomorrow, and good luck to Ryan Coogler at the Oscars for @sinnersmovie #bootsriley #ryancoogler #iloveboostersmovie #skywalkerranch
With my friends in Rogue Wave. They got the royal listening party treatment at Dolby’s headquarters for their new Atmos mix of one of their classic albums. I loved this album when it came out and was lucky enough to work with the band on a couple of their more recent albums. Great band. Special shout out to Grammy award winning engineer Michael Romanowski for the Atmos mastering.
Tycho “Epoch” turns 10 year old! Limited edition vinyl has been pressed. I can’t believe it’s already been 10 years since it’s release. It was a really interesting album to work on, and such an important time for the band. And it totally exceeded my expectations and was nominated for a Grammy for best electronic album in 2017.
Congrats to Trombone Shorty and New Breed Brass Band on their Grammy nomination. No Grammy this time but it’s always great working with them, and Troy is the world’s greatest horn player as far as I’m concerned. Looking forward to doing another album!
Grammy time. The Producers and engineers party last night was great. They honored legend Jimmy Douglass. Look him up. The guy has worked on so much. Timbaland came up to give some kind words.
Fun night with Rock Hall of Famers Jane Wiedlin from the Go-Gos and Jerry Harrison from Talking Heads. Tom Lennon from Reno 911 nailed his Morrissey impression at Sketchfest. Thanks for making it happen Travis!
This Saturday at The Midway in SF I’ll be breaking down the production and mix of a new Thievery Corporation song at Music Expo with Atmos mastering engineer Michael Romanowski. 4:15pm. See you there!
Always great working on albums with fantastic musicians like these. Congrats on the Grammy! I'll be there in person this year which will hopefully get us the win!
