In a way, every batch of beer is unique. It’s made in one moment in time, with certain ingredients grown under certain conditions, fermented subject to the whims of capricious yeast and the brewing fates. But some beers are extra unique…
Introducing: Black Sesame Black IPA. Brewed with dark malts, a blend of west coast and English hops, and roasted black sesame, this beer balances pine and spice hop aromatics with a smooth and chocolatey stout base, finishing with a subtle nutty complexity from the sesame. We brewed this on the suggestion and vote of our Mug Club, and we’re so excited to bring it to life! Try it fresh on tap starting tomorrow (Saturday) 🍻

Celebrate Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month with us on Saturday, May 16 for a fun day of activities, art, shopping, food, and brews. Enjoy a two-stop neighborhood performance by @wahmayld ; check out our group exhibition of Asian American artists, HOMECOMING, on view at Proyectos Punto; make zines with @itsvalindachan of Our Cantonese Stories; design and assemble your own earrings with @cindascrafts ; browse amazing hand-crafted products from @cuocdoiprints and @towkaseisei ; have a bite to eat from @kotosalemma ; and grab a beer from the Korean American-owned taproom as you wander!

Do ye smell that black scent upon the air, full of cannon smoke and the apprehension of battle? Today is the Battle for Derby Street, where the forces of Black Sam Bellamy, the Robin Hood of the high seas and pirate captain of the Whydah, face off against the honorable John Turner and his fleet of merchant ships protecting Salem’s harbor.
Kickoff for the event is at 10am in Charlotte Forten Park, with registration open in the park all day, where you can choose sides before enjoying fun activities, music, shopping, drinks specials and more all day along Derby St.
For our part we’ve released Scurvy Cure (pictured above), a brand new hard seltzer with orange and vanilla, good for treating archaic diseases and your thirst. Try it on tap today, and best of luck to your chosen side in the battle!

Throwback brew coming through! To celebrate the changing seasons, we’re bringing back a past favorite: Stick Saison. At 6.4% ABV and brewed with fresh lemongrass, this farmhouse ale brings light notes of spice, fruit, and pop-folk stardom as, perfect for sunny days and strumming guitars. Try it on tap Monday 4/20, when the taproom will be open 3-8pm for Patriot’s Day!
And for anyone with cute and photogenic dogs, don’t forget to swing by the taproom Sunday from 2-7pm for a professional pet portrait opportunity with the wonderful @poochagram . Tickets available online to reserve a spot, or walk-ins also welcome!
