Your new rights: Rent rises kept in check ✔️ Private renting is entering a new chapter. Rent rises are now limited to once a year, with unfair increases easier to challenge.

This week we hosted a Town & Parish Council Forum in Cirencester, welcoming councillors and clerks from across the south of the district to hear updates on a range of important local topics. Discussions included the council’s Local Plan, Local Government Reorganisation, 'Making the Cotswolds Dementia Friendly', and emergency planning. We also heard from guest speaker Lucy Eccles from @glosrcc , alongside volunteer flood warden Phil Challinor, who shared valuable insights on community resilience and preparedness. We’ll be holding a similar session in the north of the district next week, giving councillors and clerks there the opportunity to hear updates and share feedback. Working closely with town and parish councils is an important part of ensuring key information and support reaches residents across the district.

Congratulations to the Corinium Museum which has been recognised by VisitEngland for its “outstanding curation and excellent customer care”. ⭐ In a recent assessment the team received a rare 100% score for customer service, whilst the galleries were described as “extremely well curated”, with fantastic attention to detail throughout. This achievement means the museum has once again been put forward for a VisitEngland Welcome Accolade—after winning in both 2024 and 2025! Read more: link in bio.

Cotswold District Council has approved outline planning for The Royal Agricultural University’s Innovation Village — the UK’s first innovation hub dedicated to the land-based sector. The project will bring together researchers, farmers, food producers, landowners and industry partners to support sustainable food production, biodiversity recovery and resilient rural communities. Cllr Tristan Wilkinson described the announcement as “truly exciting”, saying the Innovation Village could help drive green growth, attract low-carbon businesses and create skilled local jobs. Thank you to the hardworking Ubico team for their swift and professional response to a significant fly-tipping incident near Cirencester earlier this week. 👏 Several loads of waste were illegally dumped onto the road overnight on Monday, forcing an immediate closure to keep the public safe. Following reports early Tuesday morning, the Ubico team mobilised quickly and, within just a couple of hours, the site was fully cleared, the road safely reopened, and all highways equipment returned. Their rapid, coordinated efforts ensured minimal disruption and are a great example of the dedication shown every day to keeping our district clean, safe, and welcoming for residents and visitors alike.
