I really do love cosplaying Hunter! He has become my default cosplay recently and despite the pain those heels cause my feet after wearing them for 5 hours straight, I wouldn't give it up for anything! This cosplay is so empowering!

People love to throw around phrases like ‘this is how it should be done’.
But for me, the real measure of a cosplay competition isn’t about ego, gatekeeping or who can shout the loudest online. It’s about community. It’s about creating an atmosphere where people of all ages, fandoms, skill levels and backgrounds feel confident enough to put on a costume, step into the spotlight and have the time of their lives.
When Cosplay Syndicate began working alongside Bolt Events, the dream was simple — make the cosplay competition one of the highlights of the entire day. Not something tucked away in a corner, but a celebration of creativity, confidence and pure nerdy joy.
Looking at these photos honestly fills me with pride. Families competing together. First-time cosplayers standing beside veterans. Kids inspired by the people around them. Entire friend groups turning up because they know they’ll be welcomed, encouraged and celebrated.
That’s what success looks like to me.
It’s never been about tearing down other events or criticising anyone’s cosplay. Every person brave enough to cosplay deserves respect. But I am incredibly proud of what we’ve helped build with Bolt Events. The growth, the energy, the turnout, the presentation… it speaks for itself.
To every single person who has entered one of our competitions this year: thank you. You are the reason these competitions feel electric every single show.
And trust me… we’re only getting started.”
