warm wishes! Cosima
Unexpected Percussion reveals an intermittent project born from a need to mature creative processes—free from the pressure of immediacy or the back-and-forth of constant messaging. A space where boundaries are not fixed but fluid, allowing for a dynamic interplay of concepts and elements. Where the unfinished converses with the resolved. Where the bonds forged through the process matter most. And where, even in uncertainty, fertile ground for discovery can be found.

Hi all!
There is a new album release coming up, and I’m more than happy to announce that it will be out on @cosimapitz on April 15th. It is called ’Unexpected Percussion’ by aJaJ.
It is a duo collaboration between my dear friend Cristian Subirà, aka Jason Kolàr, and me.
What started as a coincidental encounter in 2018, evolved into a musical collaboration between our hometowns, Barcelona and Cologne, a few years later. We went on field trips, mic’d several objects we found along the way, and started processing and overdubbing them afterwards with our own tools. Instrumental layers were added, and this is the outcome. We hope you like it!
Thank you, Max and Cosima, for giving our music a home and connecting it to artist Jens Braun @bens.jraun , who did the cover art and created a beautiful series of paintings on the basis of our music.
You can already listen to some tracks on Bandcamp. It will be released on tape, and you can pre-order now! Link in bio.

Some projects start with a plan. Cosima Pitz grew out of an ongoing conversation. A small press in the back room gradually expanded beyond paper and became a label where sound and image meet and respond to each other.
For Maximilian Rossner, the feeling leads. He talks about music hitting the stomach, about work that bypasses thought. This sensitivity guides how the label is run, in how artists are paired, and how decisions are made. There isn’t a strict blueprint behind it.
As he speaks about working this way, the conversation turns toward transcendence, collectivity, and freedom. Toward giving work space. Toward keeping things open. Toward resisting the pressure to turn everything into a business.

To a new year and the good spirits up above...Thank you. xx, Cosima
Schatterau - Übers Jahr
Over the course of a year, world and nature drift through their quiet circle around the sun - falling into sleep, blooming again, reaching into the long light before drifting into decline, fading back into rest, and repeating the cycle, though never in quite the same way.
For us alone, time unfolds - shaped by what lingers, by memories settling in and years leaving their fine traces, forming a fragile spiral melody.
Schatterau’s music seems to breathe in this motion, letting their mist-washed tape loops swell, blur, and fray like weathered seasons, tracing the shift from what returns to what continues on.

Jordi Santanach — Strata
Music aged in time, resonating from the surface to the core through layers and sediments of stones — the strata.
Four morning recording sessions with a separation between them of between three and ten months — a chronozone that will rest for a time and on which the next one will be added, thus forming the total of the six pieces of the album — becoming six strata.
A slow-moving album that develops landscapes of subtle but continuous evolution, where we find layers of diverse nature created from different procedures, bathed in the calm waters of wabisabi, where melancholy, immensity, insignificance, the potential of the unemerged, coexistence and simplicity converge at the same time.
Jordi Santanach: clarinet, bass clarinet, baritone sax, field recordings, compositions.
