Some shots of last autumn’s native wildflower experiment. These annuals just kept growing to over six feet tall then finally exploded with flowers in September. I’m hoping the ‘seed mix’ shows off with a bunch of perennials this year.
Spent a few days at the Abbey of the Genesee. It’s quiet and beautiful and a good space to think and feel. Lots of deer and blue birds. Also wound up at a TGI Fridays for the first time in a decade.
A reminder that I’m hosting a Book Release & Brunch Sunday at Jilly’s Music Room(1-3p) for my new book, The Underneath. I’ll also be reading excerpts from the series. Here is a little sample from The Murde Mountains I recorded, testing out the ole’ narrator voice.
Hope to see you there!
Fancy some Brunch and a Book Reading? I’m having a book release brunch at Jilly’s Music Room, March 22nd from 1p-3p. I’ll be reading from my new book The Underneath, as well as some earlier entries. If you decide to join, please let me know so we can give Jilly’s a rough head count.
I’ll have books available. Hope to see you there!

My first attempt at amaranth bites/cookies (from a Sean Sherman recipe). It’s essentially just baking cooked (boiled) amaranth with some sugar. I had to toss the first half of the batch because I didn’t cook the amaranth down enough before baking. I’m hoping to make them prettier but they are tasty and have an unusual texture.
My girl @icatchfoxes surprised me with the gift of loved ones at the palace of dreams @nightlightakron Thank you to everyone who came and added to the joy you have already given me in my life. I am so thankful for my friends, community and art, cake that tastes like poetry (thank you @kabyliabaguette , and neighbors who invite us to their 3yr old’s birthday party on the same night at their sushi restaurant, where it got just crazy enough.
