Laughlin was a fun course and we were hauling 🫏 on day 1 until we weren’t. We now know that the right rear wheel had a rock get jammed into the caliper, blowing a hole in the wheel right as it was loaded in the left hand sweeper. I tried so hard to save it and was so bummed that our race that day was over and my beautiful Maverick R wasn’t so perfect anymore. We got it fixed and raced day 2 as well and finished decent after battling through the dust from the back of the field, so we are still in the points battle for the season - sitting in P3 going into the Baja Nevada in June! 🤘🏻 We will be ready! 🔥
Follow-up to our wreck on Saturday: rock + wheel + caliper + high speed left sweeper = carnage reel with 200k + views! 👀. Not sure if it jammed and that’s what started the chain of events or if it flattened the tire immediately and that did it, but it doesn’t matter. We will take precautions so this doesn’t happen again! My car and my co driver will appreciate that! 👍🏻
