By not overcomplicating the hand composition it gives such importance to the motif. They seem to offer an amuletic quality, similar to some of the minimal hand tattoos i see on the elder women here in India.

Naga Mark-Making for Mera Pati

Abhishek’s arm has been evolving through different forms of mark-making, most recently leaning towards even bolder beads. He’s not interested in the contemporary perfect tattoo, he admires texture of ink tone and texture of the skin.
The giant beads are an ode to the snakes he has in his heart, gradually the beads will join up across the body like scales.

Swirling Landscape for the Feet

We made this piece over 2 sessions, with one side being marked out in dots ready for session 2. When Abigal returned it was a hard decision if she wanted to create the full lined piece or keep the duality of the light and dark. I love both versions, and i’m also super grateful to be given the opportunity of making one of my placement ideas come to life! It’s a gift for any tattoo artist to be able step into new waters they have been dreaming of :)

Strength found in Flowers

The bonding of the two wrists offers a symmetrical unified form that gives stability. The actual motif is stripped back to a raw simplicity that takes away the idea that flowers are feminine. An ode to the bold and the natural.

New Marks
