I haven’t really posted much about the fact I’ve been working with a wonderful magazine called Seedlings — but it’s been one of the most meaningful and creatively fulfilling parts of my year.
Seedlings
@seedlings.studio is an independent, handmade magazine celebrating art, poetry, prose, and conversation, rooted in the natural world. Each issue follows a season, bringing together emerging and established voices in a beautifully crafted print publication.
Over the past year, I’ve slowly become more involved in Seedlings, and it’s been nothing short of joyful. From designing the original logo, to illustrating poetry, to creating the Summer edition’s cover and posters… I’ve had the chance to interview contributors, design a risograph-printed cover, and illustrate around Ferryman — a stunning song by Johnny Flynn
@johnnyflynnmusic and Robert Macfarlane
@robgmacfarlane — which even opened unexpected doors, including to Bloomsbury Books.
Most recently, I’ve had the privilege of art editing both the Autumn and Winter issues — and what a gift it’s been.
To Will,
@will.j.wood our brilliant editor — thank you. Your passion, generosity, and kindness shape everything Seedlings is. You’ve given me space I didn’t know I needed, and the trust to explore parts of myself I’d forgotten. I’ll never be able to express how much that means.
To the artists, poets, and writers — thank you for entrusting us with your stories, your practice, and your brilliance. It’s a joy to witness your work, to feel conversations form between pieces, and to help give your words and art a home.
For a few months, our lives are Seedlings — and it is nothing but joyous. We have big ideas… and I hope we get to bring just a few of them to life 🌱💕
