Suuuuuuuuper excited to have been invited to join the inaugural New Jersey Hispanic Film Festival as a filmmaker panelist this coming Sunday at 2pm @basiecenter Come listen to this cool chat as fellow budding heavyweight filmmakers and I share some of our storytelling experiences as immigrants with undocumented backgrounds. @undocufc is a dream for bringing us all together! We’ll cover it all! Making movies in a sometimes hostile country? Check. Making sure your sound levels are balanced while the politics remains unbalanced? Ccccccheck! Ensuring your cast and crew are treated well and humanely on set while you wish society would do that for every single undocumented person out there every single day? Whoah mama, big ol’ SCHECK! Ok ok we’ll probably get into more nuanced things than these, maybe even into how humor can be a part of these narratives. I hope to see you there! Some great feature and short films screening throughout the weekend, too… Link in bio, folks

I took a picture, check it out. True fans of the horizon line will notice something… interesting… in this one. Let me know if you spot it Working on some exciting professional things in the meantime, screenplays, films, @nytimes plum cake recipes… sorry, that last one was not professional. And unfortunately not many of the new projects experiment with the horizon line as much as this picture… at least not… …yet… Perhaps this picture will be the catalyst for a whole personal approach of mine to what people in France might call “ligne d’horizon” If it is, you will have been there at the beginning. Wow. Again, let me know if you spot it

Here we are! Wrapping up a semester of grad film and heading into another one. This one was tough for a variety of reasons. And I was not ready for the unexpected grief that would underlie a lot of it for me. But look at all these films and teams I took part of. We discovered so much together. I’m grateful for the journey and excited to see how the works we all made, and our selves, keep finding their shape this coming semester. And I’m excited to start working on the next films. And the next. And the next. Onward my friends, and thanks for the rides thus far ♥️ More from me soon on this last, Times Square based project…….

Thank you, Austin! I felt like a million bucks! And everyone around me was like a million bucks. That is what it’s like to be truly fortunate, I think. @austinfilmfest was a great place to première Love Me Tenderizer, and I can’t wait for more people to see our team’s work :)

I have to share the FRESH, HOT, EXCITING news that my short film Love Me Tenderizer (2022) will have its World Première at the @austinfilmfest ! This feels like a homecoming of the first order. I can’t wait to go back to a city that I love, a city that made me, and show off this labor of love, sweat, tears, and spice to the public for the first time. AUSTINITES! Buy your tickets now! We’ll be at @longcenter on Oct 30 at 9:30PM and then at the Galaxy Theater on Nov 1 at 3:45PM. You can get a film pass or a badge for the fest in advance at their website, or a limited number of individual tickets will be available for purchase at the venues right before the show. If you bring a bottle of any sort of spice, I will try to sign it for you (if you’d like me to). Huge thanks to the Austin Film Fest team for giving us room to screen in the “Oddballs and Obscurities” Short Film program, which is sincerely the best place for this insane movie/filmmaker. In their words, the film is “very funny” and “quick-witted”. Hell yeah. And a huge congrats to my wonderful collaborators: Fellow actors: @silviadionicio @maritzavivesactress Producers: @meagansolano1 @xexeu__ DP: @fleuryofemotions AC: @kwesi.baraka AD: @thedudualmeida Colorist: @adam_brandenburg Sound recordist/mixer: @sashfiercee Music Composer: @alexandrafunesmusic Spice Double / Gaffer: Kyle Liburd Spice Costume Builders: Adri Ávila, @quinnshands @jchristasia_creations And all the folks who held me up with notes or a sympathetic ear during what was a very trying time. I’m immensely thankful to each of you. Especially @emilyktmathis —what a partner to have and to hold. Austin bats and people, see you later this month!

Going corny on main but I finally, finally, finally voted for the first time in these United States of ours. Feels nice, and also ABOUT TIME! Let’s gets more people to vote, and let’s make voting easier and more delicious so we can all be little truffle pigs except instead of truffles in a forest we’re sniffing out chances to vote in our local communities mmm yes that sounds good to this little truffle pig oink oink okay I have gone too far but there is a point about doing our part with our little bit of power in here somewhere

Days like today i truly miss my old and close personal friend, the Duomo di Siena, also known as the “Siena Cathedral”. It’s a building that had grand plans for its finished state but found itself settling for its current form. It is still astoundingly beautiful, even when the future did not go as planned. Dazzling even in your plan B? We’re proud of you, Duomy! Here are the faces of a bunch of popes and an angel carved (sculpted) inside it, photographed back in 2019 when we were all so young.
