This is @offthetrack.wav , a group of independent musicians, and most importantly, a group that believes artists should be able to create on their own terms.
They organise shows across different spaces — from art studios to skateparks — each one shaped around the artist performing. With a focus on giving musicians full creative freedom, these shows allow them to experiment, perform, and share their work without having to compromise for the industry.
To OTT, it’s about creating a space where artists feel understood, and where others are reminded that it’s possible to do things differently.

This is Maybelline, founder of @groovesociety.my — and someone who just wanted a space where people could dance without overthinking it.
It’s not really a dance class, not really a party either. Somewhere in between.
People come in not knowing each other, switch partners halfway through, and by the end, you’re dancing with strangers like you’ve known them for years.
There are no mirrors, and no pressure to get the steps right. It’s just music, movement, and a room full of people connecting through dance.

This is Lisa, Myra and Imen, founders of @friendswhochess , and simple chess lovers who believe that there’s a seat for everyone in the game.
Some of their fondest memories of chess came from playing with their families, where starting a game simply meant spending time together.
Today, they organise casual chess meet-ups that bring that same feeling back — spaces where people can slow down, play at their own pace, and enjoy the game without pressure.

This is @sayurinthecity , an urban farm by @eatsshootsandroots ! 🥬 It is a space built by people who believe nature should be accessible to everyone.
What started as a small backyard in 2012 has grown into a thriving garden in the heart of KL. Through years of trial and error, it slowly evolved into a space where people can reconnect with where their food comes from.
More than just a garden, it’s a community where people choose to show up and play their part in understanding the environment better. It’s also a testament to what a community can achieve when people come together.

This is Nigel, founder of @slowhikerskl , and most importantly, someone truly passionate about making nature accessible to everyone.
He organises hikes that range from waterfall trails to forest walks. With an emphasis on slow hiking, these outings allow him — and often other nature specialists — to share their knowledge of wildlife with others. To Nigel, nature is for everyone, and you don’t have to be the “fittest” or “in the industry” to start learning about it.

Le Central holds a special place in my heart. I first stumbled across this traditional Swiss restaurant in Le Mont sur Lausanne during my last year of uni (it has existed since 1880!), and quickly found myself going back at least once every week 🍽️
It wasn't just the amazing food (and oh boy, was it good🤤). It was the enthusiasm and warmth that I was greeted with every time I went back (worth the 1 hour public transport journey from uni everytime ❤️).
Be it your first time or your 50th meal with them, you can be assured that you will always be greeted with a warm welcome and grinning staff . And to me, this is the epitome of what hospitality should be like. A space that welcomes you and makes you feel warm. 🫂
