PROUD MOMENT ANNOUNCEMENT (swipe)….
I recently found out that in 2021, I with my incredible cast mates won an AUDELCO award for a play we did in 2003 called “Love Child” with the Harlem Theater Company. After stepping away for a bit, ironically, aside from promoting my documentary and music, this year I have been quietly reuniting with one of my first loves…theater.
For 6 weeks, I had the amazing opportunity to work under the tutelage of extraordinary Broadway and Film/TV actress, Rosalyn Coleman Williams (@irozapp ) in her Advanced Scene Study class exploring the brilliant work of August Wilson. It was an honor to share the room and the experience with some of the most gifted artists on the planet. Those nights in class reignited a feeling in my spirit that I realized had been lying dormant for far too long. Then I began reminiscing about my old theater days that I hadn’t really shared.
So here’s to my award, my amazing teacher and classmates and some throwback reels of some of my favorite theater memories. 2026 will be a space to create some new memories 😉 🎭

I remember my freshman year of college in Atlanta. I was on James P. Brawley Drive walking to class. This cadillac was bumpin’ “When We Get By”. I doubled back and asked the guy what he was playing. He told me it was D’Angelo. I skipped class, got on the MARTA to Lenox Mall and bought the “Brown Sugar” album immediately. Fast forward, I had the great opportunity to meet him twice. Still in disbelief about this day…it cuts real deep…but I am so grateful to have had his music as a part of the soundtrack of very pivotal parts of my life. Rest Easy King as you live forever through your music 🎶♥️🕊️
