TEEF//“My Love Should Not Be War” Description below: ————————— Driven by the personal and universal experience of loving the wrong person. Inspired by r.h. Sin’s reflections on love, loss, and emotional exhaustion, this piece lives in the space where love begins to feel like survival instead of safety. A place where your heart keeps showing up with softness, only to be met with confusion, distance, or silence. The anatomical heart is torn open not just by heartbreak, but by the weight of constantly trying to be understood by someone unwilling or unable to understand you. The black surrounding the heart represents the emotional warfare that slowly consumes intimacy when love becomes uneven. The gold lining through the rupture symbolizes the painful beauty of surviving it. The way brokenness can still hold value, still hold light. This painting is for the people who loved deeply without being loved correctly. For the ones who stayed too long hoping tenderness would eventually be returned with tenderness. For anyone who has ever felt themselves disappear while trying to keep someone else close. Love was never meant to feel like battle wounds. My love should not be war. TEEF// “My Love Should Not Be War” - read caption ————————— A finished live painting from @theblackpalette.la last month. I was stuck on this painting for a couple of months, up until the upcoming days just before Black Palette, I had read a poem by r.h. Sin titled, “No Love Near Death”. It read; “there is death in loving the wrong person i sit and watch so many of my peers die slow.” - r.h. Sin As an artist who loves a good one-liner, I wrote; “A Dictator Cannot Rule A Covenant”, “You Loved Me Out My Boundaries” and lastly, “A War On Love” across the the corners and top center of the painting. Some of which is covered by the black paint. I believe it is feeling we all know too well at some point in our lives.. and love.. should not be war. -TEEF ————————— Showcasing this beauty @arthouse.collective May 22nd, 8pm at @omnihouse.la Free RSVP link in bio, otherwise $10 at the door. See you there! 1625 Los Angeles St. Los Angeles, CA 90015

TEEF// “Seduction” - read caption I’ll be showcasing this piece in @arthouse.collective art gallery Friday, May 22nd, at @omnihouse.la 8pm!! FREE RSVP link 🔗 is in my bio! Otherwise it’s $10 at the door. Enjoy some live dj’s, performances, and art with yours truly & friends♥️ ————————— For this piece I wanted to feel intimacy and some sensuality. Alone, the woman couldn’t do it, so I wrote an original poem. In which, I handwritten it onto paper and pasted it onto the center of the canvas, tying it all together. ————————— “Seduction” - a poem by TEEF: If you understood… Drowning in the rain of your body. Trickling life onto my tongue. This body is poetry & I never heard this note before. She echoes at the tip of my mind, so next time I want you to ask me “why?” Why do I eat like my hunger has been deprived… just so I can tell you, “I miss you.” & I want you to miss me too. - TEEF

TEEF// “Guiding Principles of the Blue King” - Details and description below: ————————— Built around the ideas of manhood, respect, and excellence, this piece was guided by the energy of Rudyard Kipling’s poem “If” and the quote “heavy is the head that wears the crown.” - my clients favorite poem and quote, as well as his own “guiding principles”. I incorporated layered hues of blue and gold, outlines and splatters of black for boldness, and red splatter for intensity and flare. Throughout the canvas are handwritten elements of what the color blue symbolizes; wisdom, loyalty, authority, stability, and tranquility. I wanted to list the deeper qualities the color blue resembles, outside of its typical association to “sadness”. Here, the color blue is used to symbolize power, control and a leading character instead. The crown itself carries my clients favorite quote on both sides, while fragments of Kipling’s poem live across the painting, including the final stanza placed in the lower right section. The repeating phrase “A Blue King” alongside “makes a qualified man” became my way of expressing the idea that true strength in man is built through character, principles, and the way a man carries himself as interpreted in Kiplings poem “If”, and what blue symbolizes. This piece became a reflection of what it means to lead with wisdom, integrity, and purpose.
