Since 2006, OneFamily’s partnership with Camp Timberlane in the Haliburton Highlands has changed the lives of over 500 children.
Each summer, bereaved kids travel from Israel to experience something truly special: the Magic of Camp Timberlane.
Moments to express themselves in new ways.
Laughter and fun returning after loss.
There’s something powerful about the Canadian outdoors, a space to breathe, to heal, to feel free again.
Friendships are formed for life with each other, and with staff and kids from around the world.
For many, it’s more than just camp. It’s where healing begins, where joy finds its way back.

In Loving Memory of Bernie Little (1943–2025)
It is with deep sadness and heavy hearts that we share the passing of one of Camp Timberlane’s most beloved alumni, Bernie Little, who left us last night at the age of 82.
Bernie’s journey with Timberlane began the very day our gates first opened in 1958. A pre-CIT then, Bernie quickly rose through the ranks, serving with dedication and heart as a staff member and head staff, before eventually becoming a cherished alumnus. The Little name has become woven into the very fabric of Timberlane, with Bernie’s children and grandchildren continuing his legacy, leaving their own marks on camp life.
For Bernie, Timberlane was not just a place—it was a lifelong passion. The magic of Timberlane lived brightly in his heart, and he often spoke with reverence of our founders, Barry and Phil Lowes, whose guidance he carried with him always. Speak with Bernie for even a moment, and you’d soon find yourself reminiscing about camp memories, hearing about his deep love for our OneFamily program, and witnessing firsthand his boundless devotion to it.
Together with his wife Beverly, Bernie spearheaded the OneFamily Timberlane program for an incredible 19 summers. Close to 500 Israeli children and staff—young people affected by terror and war— have experienced the Magic of Timberlane, returning home with the life-changing power of friendship and belonging.
Bernie, your heart touched more lives than we can count. You built community. You inspired generations. Your legacy will live on in every Timberlane camper, every Israeli child who found peace under our trees, and every heart you made feel at home.
We extend our heartfelt condolences to Bev, his sons Robbie, Richard, Steven, and their spouses Mindy, Jodie and Lillian, his beloved grandchildren, Aaron and Rachel, Sierra and Kyle, Matthew, Zac and Marly, and his family, including Sheldon and Marilyn, and Mel and Ellen and families.
Bernie, THANK YOU! WE LOVE YOU! We will always remember you. May your “AMAZING” memory be a blessing.
