On Saturday, April 4th, the ECHO-SGV Community Convening brought together 100 community members at the Rosemead Community Recreation Center for a day centered on connection, support, and learning.
We were honored to hear from Rosemead Mayor Sandra Armenta
@cityofrosemead and El Monte Councilmember Dr. Julia Ruedas
@councilwoman_drjuliaruedas who shared encouraging words about the importance of community health and working together to support local families.
The event created a warm and welcoming space where individuals and families could access helpful resources and services. Community members enjoyed free health screenings, connected with local organizations, picked up groceries, and joined interactive nutrition workshops offered in both English and Mandarin. More importantly, it was inspiring to see so many people actively participating, asking questions, sharing experiences, and building connections with one another and with service providers.
We would also like to give a special thank you to Heart of Compassion
@heartofcompassionca for generously donating groceries, helping ensure that families left the event with meaningful, tangible support.
Events like this remind us of how powerful communities can be. By coming together, we continue to strengthen support systems, improve access to care, and uplift the well-being of our neighborhoods across the San Gabriel Valley.
