A Sunday Morning will be on display next Tuesday at the Joseph Gross Gallery in Tucson in a group show Broto/Sprout. The gallery reception will be Thursday April 2nd from 4-6. I hope to see everyone there. This is my final capstone show and I’m proud to be doing something for skateboarding.
This book is an examination of my relationship with skateboarding and its community highlighting what it has done for me. Skateboarding started on a Sunday morning in Prescott and has grown become so much more than that. I am so grateful for all the people I have met though skateboarding. Thank you skateboarding and everyone who has made this possible.
I am excited to announce my next book project, A Sunday Morning. My new book will be highlighting my relationship and connection to place and people within skateboarding and understanding my place within it.
My work will be shown at a group exhibition “Broto/sprout”where 15 other photographers will be showing. The opening is April 2nd from 4-6 at the Joseph Gross Gallery in Tucson. I hope to see you all there.
I just want to say thank you to everyone who has pushed me in skateboarding through college, I would not be here without many of you and was fortunate to have all of your support. Thank you everyone who helped me through college. Thank you Prescott Skateboarding and thank you BLX for giving me a voice within skateboarding.
A Sunday Morning.
A Sunday Morning is an exploration of my relationship and connection to skateboarding and its people. It examines the threads and connections that have been built shaping my perception and view of the world. Skateparks and skateshops are the core components of skateboarding, being a place to gather and create community through a common interest uniting people from a multitude of backgrounds and places. A Sunday Morning explores ideas of place, pain, joy, time, loss, growth, family and what skateboarding is through portraiture, landscape and abstract imagery alongside sculpture. Skateboarding started on a Sunday morning at the Prescott Skatepark starting a tradition and family that will be an ever changing force and driving part of my life. A Sunday Morning creates a dialogue between Prescott’s skatepark community and Tucson’s skateshop where I reside, both being core parts of shaping my life and understanding where I sit continuing to push forward for skateboarding.
Skateboarding is the reason I am here and it will continue to be the reason I move forward. A Sunday Morning honors what skateboarding has done for me and the people who have supported me.
Hippie Powers out now !!!
This was a video that has a special place in my heart with Prescott skateboarding. It was a project that began when I started skateboarding. I was just a kid who could barely ollie or push. Many of the people in this video raised me at the Prescott skatepark, taught me how to skate and gave me a family I never knew I had. Thank you @definitelydejoe and @gooddeal928 and everyone for the wonderful premier and video. Glad I got to see this all come to fruition stoked for the next one !
What a comeback!
