Starting The Journey To Protect Manufahi’s Seas 🌊🎉 On 17 March 2026, Coral Triangle Center held its first inception workshop in Manatuto Municipality to begin the establishment of the Manufahi Marine Protected Area in Timor-Leste. The workshop brought together fishers, community leaders, and government representatives to start a collaborative process focused on protecting marine ecosystems while supporting local livelihoods. Building Stronger Community Surveillance of MPAs Across the Coral Triangle Bali, 18-21 February 2026 🌊 Under the COAST Facility Project, CTC hosted a regional learning exchange on community-based surveillance, bringing together representatives from Indonesia, Malaysia, Papua New Guinea, the Philippines, and Timor-Leste to strengthen collaboration and capacity for protecting MPAs across the Coral Triangle. The exchange helped build stronger partnerships, enhance monitoring and reporting skills, and deepen regional coordination.
